Connect Google Calendar
Learn how to connect Google Calendar. Only personal connections are supported for Google Calendar.
If you see No Calendars for this user when trying to connect your Google Calendar, disable ad-block and reauthorize permissions. If you're unable to authorize ClickUp, visit your security settings and verify that your Google account is configured to allow access.
Sync and schedule events using Planner
Once Google Calendar is connected, you can access, create, and join Google Calendar events from your Planner. You can also ask AI to schedule events from anywhere in ClickUp!

Event visibility in Planner
The visibility of your calendar events in Planner depends on your Google Calendar settings.
In Google Calendar, calendars can be shared two ways:
- Public: Public calendars can be subscribed to from outside the Google workspace.
- Workspace: Workspace calendars can only be found and subscribed to by people in your Google workspace.
Google Calendar offers three levels of detail:
- Full details: If someone searches your calendar and you use this option, they'll see all details of the meetings you have. For example, the title, summary, and attendees.
- Free busy: If someone searches your calendar and you use this option, they'll see when you have meetings but the title of every meeting will be Busy. No further details will be shown.
- Not shared at all: If someone searches your calendar and you use this option, they won't see anything on your calendar.
Use Google Calendar tools with Brain AI
After connecting your account, you can use Google Calendar tools in Brain and Agents!
You can also allow a Super Agent to search calendar events by activating External Search for Google Calendar in its profile.
View or join events from the AI Command Bar
After connecting your Google Calendar, you'll see today's calendar schedule when you open the AI Command Bar.

Sync Google Calendar events with Calendar views
After connecting your Google Calendar, you can show or hide Google Calendar events in your Calendar views. Syncing applies to all of your Calendar views in the Workspace.
To sync a Google Calendar with your Calendar views:
- Open the Calendar view.
- In the right sidebar, scroll down and click Your calendars to expand available calendars.
- If you don't see this section, expand the right sidebar by clicking it.
- Select the Google Calendar you want to show.

- Google Calendar events will sync with all of your Calendar views.
Google Calendar link previews
When you paste a link in ClickUp, you can choose from two link preview types: Inline or Preview.
When you paste a link mid-sentence or within existing text, it will default to Inline. When you paste a link on a new line, it will default to the last preference you selected.
Link previews work in task descriptions, comments, Docs, and Chat messages. Certain ClickUp objects, like tasks, have their own preferences that override your general preference.
To manually change a link preview type, hover over it and click the ellipsis … icon.
Sync tasks with Google Calendar
Sync tasks from specific Spaces, Folders, or Lists with Google Calendar and vice versa.
Syncing tasks with Google Calendar is different from syncing your Google Calendar events with your Planner.
With default settings, tasks are created as busy events in Google Calendars, so we recommend creating a brand new Google Calendar for the sync.
You can quickly show or hide the new Google Calendar to reveal your tasks. You cannot sync ClickUp tasks to a shared Google Calendar.
When you sync calendar events from Google Calendar to ClickUp:
- New Google Calendar events will be displayed in Calendar views in the Space, Folder, or List.
- Changes you make to the event in Google Calendar will be reflected on your calendar in ClickUp.
- Changes you make to an event in Google Calendar will not update the related task in ClickUp.
- You can view the event in ClickUp, and click a link to view and edit the event in Google Calendar.
- Only calendars from the My Calendars section of Google are available.
- You can toggle your specific Google calendars on or off.
- Events created in Google Calendar do not create a new task in ClickUp.
- Google Calendar tasks will not sync to ClickUp.
- Google Calendar will show tasks as 30-minute blocks regardless of the task's true length.

- To the right of Sync tasks to calendar, click Manage.

Tasks without a due date or with a due date in the past. |

Start date and time: Updating a task's start date or time will update the related Google Calendar event. Remove the Google Calendar integration
When removing your Google account, it will be removed from the entire Workspace for security reasons. This can impact sending emails from ClickUp, integrating your Google Calendar, and uploading attachments from Google Drive. You'll need to re-add your Google account to continue using these features.
After you delete the integration, tasks synced from ClickUp must be manually removed from your Google Calendar.
To remove the Google Calendar integration:
- In the App Center, open Google Calendar.
- To the right of Connected, click the ellipsis ... menu.
- Click Disconnect.
- To confirm, click Disconnect.
