Line Chart cards

The Line Chart Dashboard card is a custom card available in our Dashboard feature that allows you to visualize changes to data over time.

Line chart cards use Time or Dates on the x-axis to display task data over time. Learn more

Add a Line Chart card

To add a Line Chart card:

  1. Create a new or open an existing Dashboard.
  2. In the upper right corner, click + Add card
  3. From the left sidebar, select Custom.
  4. Click Line Chart card.
  5. Configure your card settings.
  6. In the upper-right, click Add card.

Edit a Line Chart card

Hover over a card to:

  • Edit quick settings, including card filters.
  • Click the settings cog to edit card settings.

Choose the data and appearance of your Line Chart card.

The following table describes the available card settings:

Setting group Setting Description
Data Source Select locations Choose the Spaces, Folders, and Lists to include.
Include Subtasks Include subtasks from the selected locations.
Include Tasks in Multiple Lists Include tasks added to the selected locations.
Include Subtasks in Multiple Lists Include subtasks added to the selected locations.
Display Display as a stacked area Display y-axis values as a stacked area differentiated by color.
Show legend Show the color and value of each y-axis group by option.
X-Axis Measure

Line chart cards always display task data over time. Learn more

Options include:

  • Time
  • Dates including Date Custom Fields
Time range

Include task data from the selected time range. Options include:

  • All available dates
  • This year
  • This month
  • This week
  • Rolling period
  • Range
Group by

Display x-axis values in the selected time scale. Options include:

  • Days
  • Weeks
  • Months
Y-Axis Measure

Options include:

Group by

Display data as separate lines or stacked areas representing a specific field.

You can't group by the same field as you're using to measure on the y-axis.

For example, grouping by Status shows the total number of tasks (y-axis) in each status on a given date (x-axis).

Options include:

  • None
  • Assignee
  • Custom Fields
  • Dates
  • Formula fields
  • Priority
  • Status
  • Status type
  • Tags
  • Task type
Show tasks with no group by field set

Show tasks where the group by option is not set.

For example, when grouping by Assignee, enabling this option includes unassigned tasks in the chart.

Plot the change in values

Display the amount of change per day as the y-axis value.

For example, your data includes:

  • 0 tasks in progress on Monday
  • 5 tasks in progress on Tuesday
  • 3 tasks in progress on Wednesday.

With this setting enabled, the y-axis shows:

  • 5 for Tuesday
  • -2 for Wednesday
Filters Show closed

Include closed tasks in your data.

Show archived

Include archived tasks.

Filter Apply filters to show tasks that currently meet the specified criteria.
