Intro to task IDs

Unique task IDs are assigned to each task in your ClickUp Workspace to help make them identifiable.

What you'll need

Find a task ID

Task IDs can be found in the following locations:
  • In a task's URL
  • In the task modal
  • In List view

Task IDs in a task's URL

You can find a task's ID at the end of the URL when you're viewing a task.

Task IDs on tasks

To find a task's ID when you're viewing a task:
  • Above the task title, click the task ID icon to copy it.
  • From the task settings menu, click Copy ID

Task IDs in List view

To see a list of task IDs in List view:
  1. In the upper-right corner above the task table, click the plus icon.
  2. Select the Task ID field to add it as a column to the List view.
  3. In the Task ID column, click the Task ID to copy it.

Use Task IDs in Github/Bitbucket/GitLab Commits

To automatically add Github, GitLab, or Bitbucket commits to tasks, include the task ID.

Create custom task IDs

Workspaces on our Business Plan and above can create custom task IDs.

See original task IDs

If you're using custom task IDs, you can see a task's original task ID by opening it and double-clicking the custom task ID.
