Use the Outlook Mail integration to search your Outlook emails, download attachments, and more without leaving ClickUp!
What you'll need
- The Outlook Mail integration is available on all plans.
- Connected Search is available on all plans as a limited-time trial. Future restrictions apply.
- Guests and limited members cannot set up integrations or use Connected Search.
The data in your Outlook account will not be available to anyone else through ClickUp.
Brain and Super Agents can use the Outlook Mail tools. To download an Outlook attachment with Brain, ask Brain about an email attachment.
Connect Outlook
Before you can use connected search, you must connect Outlook.
Search Outlook emails using Connected Search
After connecting the integration, you can use Personal Connected Search to search your email inbox from ClickUp.
No one else can search for files from your personal connections.
The Outlook Mail integration allows you to search emails from the most recent year. This is a rolling time period, meaning your searchable email history always covers the last 365 days from the current date, not just from when you first connected your account.
Searches work best when you include a keyword, sender, or subject as an anchor. For example, "emails from Sarah about the Q3 report" or "messages with invoice in the subject from last week."
Allow Super Agents to search your inbox
To allow a Super Agent to search your connected Outlook account's inbox, activate External Search for Outlook Mail in its profile.
Download Outlook attachments with a Super Agent
A Super Agent with Outlook Mail tools can download an email attachment, analyze it, attach it to a task, a task comment, or a Doc, or send it in a new email.
To set this up, add the Outlook Mail tools in the Tools section of the Super Agent's profile. The Super Agent uses the account selected for Outlook Mail there, whoever triggers it.
Before it adds an attachment to a task, comment, or Doc, it asks for confirmation, and the person who triggered it needs edit access to the destination. If its instructions name a file type, a scheduled run processes every matching attachment and skips emails with no match.
Anyone who can trigger the Super Agent can see attachment content in its reply.
Open Outlook from ClickUp
Once the integration is set up, use the Open Outlook command in the AI Command Bar to quickly open Outlook in a new tab.
Disconnect the integration
If you no longer want to search your Outlook inbox from ClickUp, you can disconnect the integration from the App Center.
