Preview Canny links

See live, synced Canny link previews throughout your Workspace.

Connection types

The features and commands available depend on which type of connection you use.

Connection type Description Features Commands
Personal connection Connect your Canny account with your ClickUp account for each Workspace you've created or joined. The data in your Canny account will not be available to anyone else through ClickUp.

Canny link previews:

Link previews allow you to see live, synced visualizations of links directly in ClickUp.

 Open Canny: Open Canny in a new tab.
Workspace connection The Workspace owner or admins can enable Canny as a Workspace connection.    

Set up Canny link previews

To set up Canny link previews:

  1. Open the App Center.
  2. Search for and select Canny.
  3. Select the Personal or Workspace tab.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the set up.

Canny link previews

When you paste a Canny link mid-sentence or within existing text, it will display an inline link preview that you can hover over for more details.

When you paste a Canny link on a new line, you can choose to display it inline, as a live preview, or as a regular URL. 

Link previews work in task descriptions, comments, Docs, and Chat messages. To manually change a link preview type, hover over it and click the ellipsis … icon.

Use commands to open Canny

Use AI Command Bar commands to open Canny directly from ClickUp.

  1. Open the AI Command Bar:
    • At the top of your Workspace, click Search.
    • Press Cmd + K on Mac or Ctrl + K on PC.
  2. Type Open Canny.
  3. Press Return on Mac or Enter on PC.
