Format Chat messages in Zapier
There are several formatting options you can use in your Zaps.
Text
The table below explains how to bold, italicize, and strikethrough text in Zaps:

Inline code and blockquotes

Links
URL links are automatically hyperlinked in ClickUp Chat without additional formatting.
To display the link text instead of the URL, type an open square bracket, your link text, a closing square bracket, an open parenthesis, your URL link, then a closing parenthesis.
For example: [Link text](https://zapier.com)
Link text includes spaces between words.
Images
URL links are automatically hyperlinked in ClickUp Chat without additional formatting.
To display an image instead of the URL, type an exclamation mark, an open square bracket, alt text, a closing square bracket, an open parenthesis, your image URL link, then a closing parenthesis.
For example: 
Alt text is a brief description of an image that appears when the image can't be viewed.
New lines
No special formatting is required for new lines.
To add a new line, press Return
on Mac or Enter
on PC.
You can only enter a single new line between lines of text. Two or more consecutive new lines are not supported.
Emoji
No special formatting is required for emoji.
To add a new emoji, wrap the emoji name in colons or copy it from this cheatsheet.

Use ClickUp IDs in Zapier
You can use user and task IDs in your Zaps.
User ID
To use a user ID in a Zap:
- Select any of the ClickUp Zapier triggers available.
- Select the ClickUp Zapier action Send Chat Message to Channel.
- In the Message Text section, select the user ID field.
The name of this field varies based on your trigger.
- Copy the user ID and paste it into your Zap, or use this dynamic field in your Zap.
Team ID
To use a Team ID in a Zap:
- Open ClickUp in your web browser.
- If Teams are pinned to the Sidebar, select Teams.
- If Teams are not pinned, select More in the Sidebar, then click Teams.
- Search for and select the Team you want to mention.
- In the web page URL, copy the alphanumeric ID that follows /teams/.
- Paste it into your Zap, or use this dynamic field in your Zap.
Task ID
To use a task ID in a Zap:
- In ClickUp, open the task you want to mention.
- In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... menu.
- Click Copy ID.
- Paste it into your Zap, or use this dynamic field in your Zap.
