Add context to conversations and create action items directly from Chats and messages on the mobile app.

Chat availability

We're currently experiencing high demand for Chat. You can join the waitlist from the Chat ClickApp in your Workspace.

ClickUp Chat is free. Certain restrictions may apply later.

What you'll need

• A Workspace owner or admin must enable the Chat ClickApp from the desktop app or a browser. The ClickApp cannot be enabled from the mobile app.
• To send messages in location-based Chats, you must have Comment permissions or higher in the Chat's Hierarchy location.
• Limited members can start direct messages with anyone.
• Limited members can @mention anyone in the Workspace.
• Limited members can create new Chats. Limited members read only cannot create new Chats.

Connect existing tasks to messages

To connect a task to a message:

1. Tap and hold the message.
2. Select Connect Task.
3. Search for and select the tasks you want to connect. You can also select from recent tasks and tasks suggested by AI.
   
4. At the bottom, tap Connect selected tasks.

Connect new tasks to messages

To create a new task and connect it to a message on mobile:

1. Tap and hold the message.
2. Select Connect Task.
3. In the upper-right corner, tap New.
4. Name the task and select a List.
5. Add any additional task details.
6. Tap Create.
7. The new task will be related to the message.

Access connected tasks

Once a task is connected to a message, it will display above the message.

When there's one connected task, you'll see the name of the task. Tap it to open the task.

When there's multiple tasks connected to a message, you'll see the number of connected tasks above the message.
