You can use Custom Fields to track, sort, and filter work.
What you'll need
- 60 Custom Field uses are available on the Free Forever Plan.
- Unlimited uses are available on paid plans.
- Individual Custom Fields can be hidden from all guests.
- Guests can search, sort, and filter tasks by Custom Fields.
Search Custom Fields from views
You can search tasks using Custom Fields from views using the search bar in the upper-right.
By default, Task Name, Task Description, and Custom Fields are included.
You can customize these options by clicking the ellipsis ... in the search bar.
Your search bar preferences apply to all views in your Workspace.
Only Custom Fields added as columns in your view will be searched.
You can search for text in the following types of Custom Fields:

Phone

Location
Sort tasks by Custom Fields
You can sort tasks by Custom Fields in List, Gantt, and Table view.
- Ensure the Custom Field is displayed as a column.
You can sort by private Custom Fields!
- Click the column heading to sort.
- Once sorted, you can:
- To reverse the sorting order, click the arrow icon.
- To clear sorting, click the column heading and click Clear sort.

Filter tasks by Custom Fields
You can filter tasks by Custom Fields in List, Board, Calendar, Gantt, and Table views. Filter preferences vary based on Custom Field type.
- At the top of the view, click Filters. If you don't see this option, click Filter in the upper-right.
- Using the first dropdown, select the Custom Field you want to filter by.
You can filter by private Custom Fields!
- Set the other filter preferences and values.
When filtering tasks by a Dropdown Custom Field, you can select multiple dropdown options!
- Your view automatically updates.
When filtering by a People Custom Field, you can only select users with permissions to the List, Folder, or Space you are in.
