Whiteboard connectors easily snap into place. Use these lines and arrows to create relationships between Whiteboard items. Then, customize the connector's color, shape, size, and more.

What you'll need

• Whiteboards are available on every ClickUp Plan.

• The number of Whiteboards that can be created depends on your plan:

  • Free Forever: 3 Whiteboards.

  • Unlimited: 10 Whiteboards.

  • Business, Business Plus, and Enterprise: Unlimited Whiteboards.

• Guests can use Whiteboards.

• If using Google Chrome, you must enable hardware acceleration.

Add connectors

Any Whiteboard items can easily be connected to each other's snap points. 

To connect items:

1. From the toolbar, select the double-arrow icon or use the shortcut Shift + C.
   

2. Hover over any item on your Whiteboard to highlight the four connector points.
   

3. Click and drag the cursor toward a connector point on the other item.
   

4. The connector easily snaps into place when it gets close to the other item's connector point.

5. The items will stay locked together as you move them unless they're disconnected. 
   • You can use the Connector Item menu to change the color, width, arrows, or add text to the connector. 

Duplicate items

You can quickly duplicate any item. The duplicated item is perfectly aligned with the original item. It also shares the original item's colors and size. Text is duplicated in text boxes but not in objects.

1. From the Whiteboard toolbar, click the shape or sticky note icon to add it to your Whiteboard.

2. Click the shape or sticky note to see the gray plus buttons at the top, right, bottom, and left.
   

3. Click the plus button in the direction where you want the duplicate item.

   • If a sticky note has a connector, its duplicate has a connector.

   • Text inside the shape or note doesn't duplicate.

You can't copy and paste tasks or connectors using keyboard shortcuts.

Customize connectors

You can use the Item menu to customize your connectors however they were added.

• Color dropdown: Select from nine colors.

• Connector style menu: Select from three line weights.

• Arrow menu: Move the arrowhead to the start or end of the line.

• Connector type dropdown: Select a straight, elbow, or curved line.

• Text menu: Add text to your connector. Connector text can only be horizontal and up to 265 characters.

• Ellipsis ... menu: Click to copy, delete, or arrange the connector in relation to the other items on your Whiteboard.

Align items

Use the red guidelines to evenly position items against each other on your Whiteboard. A red guideline automatically displays when items are aligned at the left, right, top, or bottom edges.
