Reuse Lists in your Workspace when setting up new projects for your team!
What you'll need
- Templates are available on every ClickUp plan.
- Guests can't use List templates.
- Members and above can create, edit, apply, and delete templates.

Create a List template
You can save a List as a template to reuse it for future projects.
To create a List template:

Create a List or select an existing List.
- If necessary, add the tasks, views, and Automations that you would like to save as a template.

Hover over the List and click the ellipsis ... icon. Or, right-click the List.
- In ClickUp 4.0, Lists live in the Home Sidebar and Spaces Sidebar.
- In ClickUp 3.0, Lists are in the Sidebar.
- Hover over Templates, then click Save as Template.
- Customize the template.
- In the lower-right corner, click Save.
Create a List from a template
Repeat processes and recreate workflows by creating a new List from a template.
To use a List template, you'll need permission to access the List that was used to create the template. This includes private and deleted Lists.
To create a new List from a template:
- Hover over the Space or Folder where you want to add a List.
- In ClickUp 4.0, Spaces and Folders live in the Home Sidebar and Spaces Sidebar.
- In ClickUp 3.0, Spaces and Folders live in the Sidebar.
- Click the plus icon and select Templates.
- From the Template Center, search for a template. You can also filter for List templates using the sidebar.
- There are two ways to apply the template to your new List:

Customize the new List by clicking a template and choosing which information you want to include. Click Use Template to finalize.
If you choose to include Custom Fields, Formula Fields will not be included.
- Immediately create a List from the template by hovering over the template and clicking Quick Use.

Update a List template
Update List templates to stay up-to-date with your processes. Once a List template is updated, the template cannot be reverted to its previous state.
- Apply a List template to an existing or new List.
- Make any changes and updates to the tasks, views, and Automations.
- Hover over the List and click the ellipsis ... icon. Or, right-click the List.
- In ClickUp 4.0, Lists live in the Home Sidebar and Spaces Sidebar.
- In ClickUp 3.0, Lists live in the Sidebar.
- Hover over Templates, then click Update existing Template.
- Search for and select the existing template you want to update.
- Click Next.
- You can rename your template and update its sharing and import preferences.
- In the lower-right, click Save.
Delete a List template
Delete List templates you no longer need.
Deleted templates cannot be recovered from the Trash.
- From the Template Center, select the template.
- Next to the template name, click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Select Delete template.
- To confirm, click Delete.

Automatically apply a template to all new tasks created in a List.
