Use Brain on task comments

Quickly open ClickUp Brain from task comments to summarize the context, take action, or craft the perfect reply.

You can also type @Brain to @mention Brain like a team member.

You can also use Brain on Chat messages.

Use Brain in a comment or message

To use Brain from a task comment:

  1. Click into the comment field.
  2. Open Brain:
    • Click the Brain icon in the lower-left corner.

    • From an empty task comment, press Space.
  3. Enter a custom prompt, select a recommended action, or use a recent prompt.
  4. Press Enter on PC or Return on Mac.

Available actions

The following table describes the options available using Brain from a task comment:

Option Description
Ask anything about this comment Ask Brain anything about the comment.
Summarize Summarize the location's activity and context. 
Create a task Create a task based on the comment's content.
Create subtasks Create subtasks based on the location's info. 
Translate Translate the comment.
Write Use Brian to help you write.
Share Share the comment.

Follow ups

The following table describes the options available once Brain responds. Options may vary based on your conversation.

Option Description
Post to thread Add the response as a comment in an existing thread.
Add as Brain Note These responses are titled Brain Note. They are formatted to differentiate the content from inserted responses.
Create a Doc Create a Doc using Brains's response. 
Insert Insert Brain's response into the comments.
Try again Generate a slightly different response.
