Open Brain AI

For the following options, you can open Brain AI from a task or a location header.

To open Brain:

  • Open a task and in the upper-right corner, click Ask. 
  • Open Brain from a location header. 
  • Brain has access only to the location where it's opened by default. To change this:
    • In the lower-right corner of the prompt field, click the location picker to select a new source, Connected App, or location.

  • Brain opens, and you have the following options:

Ask about your location

Brain will suggest several questions about your location that it can answer. You can also type a question into the prompt field at the bottom of the modal. 

Executive Summary

Ask Brain to create an executive summary with key efforts and initiatives from the location:

Project update

Ask Brain to create a time-based project update.

Find duplicate tasks

This feature identifies tasks that are duplicates or similar. 

To find duplicate tasks:

  • Open Brain from a location header. 
  • In the Brain modal, click Find duplicate tasks.

Find tasks that are stuck

This feature identifies all tasks in a location that haven't had updates or discussions for more than 15 days. 

To find tasks that are stuck:

  1. Open Brain from a location header. 
  2. In the Brain modal, click Find tasks that are stuck. 

After AI responds

After AI responds, you have the following choices:

  • Copy: Copy the content and paste it manually into another location. You can also manually copy any part of the generated text.
  • Create task: Create a task from the generated content. 
  • Create Doc: Create a Doc from the generated content. 
  • Retry: Generate slightly different content. 
  • Like or dislike: Help us improve ClickUp AI by providing feedback. 
  • Tell AI what to do next: Give AI more direction or ask AI something new.

Use ClickUp AI to summarize the activity in the task description and comments. Generate high-level updates. And quickly summarize lengthy task comment threads. Learn more about task summaries and updates.
