Skip non-working days

When you're scheduling tasks, ClickUp can skip non-working days.

When you're planning a new project or updating tasks as their dates change, ClickUp will automatically schedule your tasks to start and end on working days.

ClickUp will skip non-working days when you're scheduling tasks with durations, rescheduling dependencies, remapping subtask dates, or using Automations to schedule tasks.

If you always want to include non-working days in durations and when rescheduling, you can deactivate this ClickApp.

Skip non-working days when scheduling tasks

When you're scheduling tasks by duration, non-working days are automatically skipped.

For example, your Workspace's non-working days might be Saturday and Sunday.

If you have a task with a start date of September 18th, 2025 and a duration of 10 days, the due date will automatically be set to October 1st, 2025.

If you want to include non-working days, click the toggle at the bottom of the date selector off.

Schedule tasks with elapsed durations

When the Skip Non-Working Days ClickApp is activated, durations can be set to elapsed on individual tasks.

For example, a task is set with a start date of September 22nd, 2025 and an elapsed duration of 10 days. The Skip non-working days toggle is automatically deactivated and the due date will be set to October 1st, 2025.

Convert durations using the Skip non-working days toggle

When scheduling tasks, the Skip non-working days toggle will automatically switch the duration from elapsed to non-elapsed.

When you convert an elapsed duration, non-working days are subtracted from the elapsed duration.

For example, the following table describes changing a task with an elapsed duration by clicking the Skip non-working days toggle:

Task Start Date Duration Due Date
Task A with an elapsed duration Monday, September 22nd, 2025 10 days (elapsed) Wednesday, October 1st, 2025
Task A with Skip non-working days enabled Monday, September 22nd, 2025 8 days Wednesday, October 1st, 2025
