Action Report card

Use the Sprint Action Report to track Sprint scope changes. Track tasks that were added, removed, re-estimated, and completed. Quickly see what work was not completed.

What you'll need

Action Report cards

Cards are used to build custom Dashboards and Overviews so you can report on and visualize your team's progress.

Action Report is a card you can add to a Dashboard or an Overview to see the scope changes of a current or completed Sprint.

Add an Action Report card to a Dashboard or an Overview

To add an Action Report card to a Dashboard or an Overview:

  1. From the upper-right corner of an Overview or a new or existing Dashboard, click + Add Card.
  2. In the Add card modal, from the left menu select Sprints
  3. Click Action Report.

Create an Action Report card

To create an Action Report card in a Dashboard or Overview, configure the following options:

    • Name: By default, your chart is named Action Report. You can rename it.
    • Sprints from: Select a Sprint Folder. Data from this Sprint populates the chart.
    • Measure of effort: The Sprint Points or Time Estimates applied to the tasks in this Sprint.
    • Non-working days: Populated by any days of the week your team does not work.
Measure of effort and Non-working days are configured in your Sprint settings.
    • Sprint: Action Report calculations account for all tasks, subtasks, and Tasks and Subtasks in Multiple Lists in the source Sprint. By default, this is set to include your current Sprint. You can also create an Action Report based on another completed Sprint. Your choices are:
      • Previous Sprint: The last completed Sprint.
      • Specific Sprint: From the dropdown, choose any completed Sprint from the Sprint Folder you've selected.
      • For current Sprints, the chart data updates in automatically. You can also manually refresh data by clicking the refresh icon in the upper-right corner of the chart.

Anyone with permissions to view the chart sees the same data, regardless of their permissions for the related Folders and tasks.

Read an Action Report

To effectively use Action Reports to manage your Sprints, you'll need to understand how to set and manage Sprint effort and commitment. These settings are explained in our Sprint management and reporting article.

Action Reports contain 5 tiles that break down your tasks, committed effort, and remaining work. You can also see when the Sprint's scope gets bigger or smaller.

Action Reports report on the following scope changes and settings:

Scope change or setting Description
Committed

The total Sprint Points or Time Estimates applied to the tasks until the Sprint is confirmed. This number does not change if more effort is added after confirming.

Click this tile to see a List of the tasks in this Sprint with their status, the date and time they were added to the Sprint, and the Sprint Points or Time Estimates.

Click a task to open it.

Added

The increased scope from tasks added or effort re-estimated after the Sprint is confirmed.

If a task is added after the Sprint is confirmed, the effort will show here, not on the Committed tile.

Click the Added tile to see a List of the tasks added to this Sprint, the date and time they were added, and the increase in effort. If the effort has not increased, the Change column will have a zero.

Removed

The decreased scope from tasks removed or effort re-estimated after the Sprint is confirmed.

If a task is added after the Sprint is confirmed, the effort will show here, not on the Committed tile.

Click the Removed tile to see a List of the tasks removed from this Sprint, the date and time they were removed, and the decrease in effort. If the effort has not decreased, the Change column will have a zero.

Completed The tasks that have been completed after Sprint confirmation and before the Sprint is done
Remaining

The tasks that are not yet completed when the Sprint is done

After Sprint Close

This section populates after the Sprint is done. If you Mark the Sprint as done and the Sprint has not ended, no changes will be tracked in this section.

Add a Dashboard view to a Sprint

Dashboard views are automatically created for each Sprint. You can turn the Dashboard view option off in the Sprint settings for your entire Workspace or individual Sprint Folders.
