Followers (formerly watchers) are people who are notified about comments made on a Doc page.
What you'll need
- People can be added as followers on every plan.
- Everyone, including guests, can follow Docs.
- Everyone except guests without Edit or Full permissions can add or remove followers.
When you're set as a follower on a Doc page or subpage, you're not a follower for the entire Doc. When you're set as a follower on a Doc page, you're not a follower for the parent Doc.
Add a follower to a Doc page
The person who creates the Doc page is automatically added as a follower.
Followers are also automatically added when:
- Someone is added as an owner.
- If an owner is removed, they remain a follower until they're removed.
- The owner of the Doc page will not retroactively be added as a follower on pages created prior to the release of this feature.
- Someone is @mentioned in a comment.
- Someone is assigned a comment.

- Select Follow if you'd like to add yourself.
