Run a sprint

There are three steps to running a sprint:

  1. Plan your sprint.
  2. Lock your sprint forecast.
  3. Perform your sprint rituals.

Plan a sprint

To plan your sprint, you'll need to do three things:

  1. Add tasks to your sprint.
  2. Assign tasks.
  3. Estimate effort on tasks.

Add tasks to a sprint

You can add tasks to a sprint in three ways:

  • Set your backlog List, and select tasks from it.
  • Create new tasks.
  • Add tasks from other lists using Tasks in Multiple Lists or Subtasks in Multiple Lists.

Assign tasks to your team

Set the assignee for the tasks added to your sprint.

Click the Assignee card to filter for unassigned tasks.

Estimate effort

Add estimated effort for each task, using Sprint Points or Time Estimates.

Click the Effort card to apply a filter for tasks without Sprint Points or Time Estimates set.

Lock the sprint forecast

Once the tasks for your first sprint are set, remember to lock the sprint forecast.

Locking the forecast sets the estimated work per sprint so it can be used by the sprint reporting cards.

Start a sprint

Your first sprint will start automatically on the start date and time.
