Tag Manager allows you to view, create, edit, and delete task tags from across your ClickUp Workspace.

Audit, organize, and clean up tags from one centralized location. Tags are categorized by Space so you can manage and maintain consistency for large or complex projects.

The Tag Manager is currently rolling out to all Workspaces.
Tags are defined at the Space level of your Hierarchy.
Doc and time tracking tags are not displayed in the Tag Manager.

Open the Tag Manager

There are multiple ways to open the Tag Manager:

• In the upper-left corner, click your Workspace avatar and select Tag Manager.
• In your Home Sidebar or Spaces Sidebar, right-click a Space and select Tags.

• In the AI Command Bar, type Open Tag Manager and press Return on Mac or Enter on PC.

Navigate the Tag Manager

Tags are categorized by Space in the Tag Manager.

When you open the Tag Manager from your Workspace settings, you'll be viewing tags from the first Space in your Hierarchy.

When you open the Tag Manager from a Space's settings, the tags from this Space are displayed.

To view tags from a different Space, select the Space in the Tag Manager sidebar. Hidden Spaces can be viewed by clicking More at the bottom of the Tag Manager sidebar.

Search tags in a Space

To search tags in a Space from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space where the tag exists.
2. Under the Space name at the top, click the search bar.

3. Type a keyword from the tag. Results automatically filter.

Filter tags

To filter tags in a Space from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space.
2. Under the Space name at the top, click Filter.

3. Select the filter criteria:

   • Created by: Filter by the tag creator.
   • Usage count: Filter by how many tasks have this tag.

   The usage count column includes the total number of tasks that have this tag applied to them. This includes archived and tasks you cannot access.

4. Tags in the Space that meet your filter criteria are displayed.

Sort tags

To sort tags in a Space from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space.
2. Click any column header to sort tags by it:
   • Tag name
   • Color
   • Usage
   • Created by
3. To reverse the sorting order, click the column header again. To stop sorting by the column, click the header a third time.

You can only sort by one column at a time in the Tag Manager.

Update tags directly from the Tag Manager.

Rename tags

To rename a tag from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space where the tag exists.
2. Click the tag name.
3. Type in the new name and press Return on Mac or Enter on PC.

Change the colors of tags

To recolor a tag from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space where the tag exists.
2. In the Color column to the right of the tag name, click the current color.
3. Select a new color. To use a custom color, click the plus icon.

Create a tag

To create a new tag from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space where you want to create a new tag.
2. In the upper-right corner, below all of your tags, or in the center of your screen, click New tag.

If you want to quickly create several tags, use the inline option below all of your tags.

3. Name the tag and choose its color.
4. Press Return on Mac or Enter on PC.

Delete tags

To delete a tag from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select the Space where the tag exists.
2. In the furthest column to the right of the tag name, click the delete icon.
3. To confirm, click Delete.

Bulk-delete tags

To bulk delete tags from the Tag Manager:

1. In the Tag Manager sidebar, select a Space.
2. Select the tags you want to delete:
   • To select individual tags, click the checkbox to the left of each tag you want to delete.
   • To select all tags currently displayed, click the checkbox to the left of the Tag Name column header.
   • To select a group of tags, click the first tag's checkbox, then Shift + click the last tag. All of the tags in between will be selected.

3. In the toolbar at the bottom, click Delete.
4. To confirm, click Delete.
