To improve performance, ClickUp automatically puts inactive tabs in your web browser to sleep. You can easily wake up a sleeping tab by switching to it.
Browser tab limits
Browser tab limits are only applied:
- To your ClickUp user account, including when you switch between Workspaces. Other people are not impacted by your personal browser tab limits.
- When using ClickUp. Tabs for other websites or apps are not impacted.
-
When using ClickUp in a web browser. The limit is not applied when using our Desktop and Mobile apps.
Sleeping tabs
By default, the browser tab limit is set to 10 tabs. When you open an eleventh tab, the oldest tab will automatically be put to sleep.
When you first open a new tab, it will stay awake for an hour before going to sleep.
When you open multiple ClickUp tabs in quick succession, your tabs won't go to sleep for a few minutes.
If you need more or fewer active tabs, you can customize the browser tab limit in My Settings, or turn this performance setting off to keep all your tabs awake.
