Update, consolidate, and remove custom task types from your Workspace.
Only Workspace owners and admins can edit and delete custom task types.

Edit a task type
To edit a task type:
- In the upper-left corner, click your Workspace avatar and select Settings.
- In the All settings sidebar, click Task Types.
- On the Task Types page, to the right of the custom task type, click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Click Edit.
- From the Edit task type modal, update the icon, name, plural name, description, or add a Custom Field.
- When adding a Custom Field, you'll have the option of creating a new Custom Field or adding existing Fields to this location.
- Click Save.
- Your changes will apply to any existing or new tasks using the custom task type.
Delete a task type
When deleting a custom task type, you'll have the option to reassign any existing tasks to a new type.
If a large number of tasks need to be reassigned, it may take a few minutes to complete your changes.
- In the upper-left corner, click your Workspace avatar and select Settings.
- In the All settings sidebar, click Task Types.
- On the Task Types page, to the right of the custom task type, click the ellipsis ... icon.
- Click Delete.
- Enter the name of the task type to confirm you want to delete it.
- Use the dropdown to select another task type to reassign any existing tasks to.
- Click Yes, Delete to confirm.
