Velocity Chart (Legacy)

Use Velocity Charts to visualize the amount of work done in two or more Sprints.

Our new Sprint Velocity cards offer improved accuracy and performance enhancements!

Custom Sprint Durations cannot be used with legacy Sprint Dashboard cards. If you need to use Custom Sprint Durations with Sprint reporting cards, switch to our new Sprint Velocity, Burnup, and Burndown cards.

Velocity Chart cards

Velocity Chart cards are time-based. Time-based cards display your tasks differently. Learn more about time-based cards.

Velocity average is average based on the measurement you choose to represent the amount of work. Velocity average displays in the upper-right corner of a Velocity card.

Tasks are broken down into weekly intervals and average velocity is displayed on the graph.

Add a Velocity Chart legacy card

To create a Velocity Chart (legacy) card:

  1. Create a new or open an existing Dashboard.
  2. In the upper right corner, click + Add card
  3. From the left sidebar, select Sprints.
  4. Click the Velocity Chart (legacy) card.
  5. Configure your card settings.
  6. In the upper-right, click Add card.

Choose the data and appearance of your Velocity Chart card.

The following table describes the available card settings:

  • Sprints
  • Lists
  • Custom Fields: tasks with Label or Dropdown Custom Fields.

Select locations Choose the Spaces, Folders, and Lists to include.
Include Subtasks Include subtasks from the selected locations.
Include Tasks in Multiple Lists Include tasks added to the selected locations.
Include Subtasks in Multiple Lists Include subtasks added to the selected locations.

Display
Show average line Velocity Chart cards always have this option enabled.
Show legend Show the color and value of each y-axis group by option.
X-Axis Measure

Velocity Chart cards always display task data over time. Learn more

The only option available for Velocity Chart cards is Time.

Time range when using Lists or Custom Fields

Include task data from the selected time range. Options include:

  • Last 7 days
  • 1 month
  • 2 months
  • 3 months
  • 6 months
  • 12 months
Time range when using Sprints

Include task data from the selected time range. Options include:

  • Last week
  • Last 2 weeks
  • Last 3 week
  • Last 6 weeks
  • Last 12 weeks
Group by

The only option available for Velocity Chart cards is Weeks.

Y-Axis


Measure

Options include:

Completion status

Specify which statuses represent completed work.

Options include:

  • Done
  • Closed
Group by

The only option available for Velocity Chart cards is List.

Filters Show archived

Include archived tasks.

Filter Apply filters to show tasks that currently meet the specified criteria.
