Integrate ClickUp and Figma to streamline your design workflow.

What you'll need

  • The Figma integration is available on all ClickUp plans.
  • Only the Workspace owner and admins can enable Figma as a Workspace connection.
  • Guests cannot use the Figma integration.

Connection types

The features and commands available depend on which type of connection you use.

Connection type Description Features Commands

Personal connection

Connect your Figma account with your ClickUp user account for each Workspace you've created or joined. The data in your Figma account will not be available to anyone else through ClickUp.

Personal Connected Search:

Search public and private files from your connected Figma account. No one else can search for files from your personal connections.

Open Figma command: Open Figma in a new tab.

Create New Figma File: Create a new Figma design.

Create New Figma Jam: Create a new Jam.

Workspace connection

The Workspace owner or admins can enable Figma as a Workspace connection.

Use this connection to give everyone access to connected search.

Workspace Connected Search:

Enable all Workspace members to search for any public files from the account you connect. Private files can not be searched.

Search Figma files using Connected Search

After enabling the Figma integration, you can manually enable Personal or Workspace Connected Search.

Once Connected Search is enabled, you'll need to copy and paste the link to specific teams or projects into ClickUp.

Add Figma links to Connected Search

From the App Center:

  1. Search for and select Figma.
    • To use Workspace Connected Search, click the Workspace tab.
  2. Click the toggle to enable Connected Search.
  3. In Figma, navigate to a team or project.
  4. Copy the URL from your browser address bar or click the ellipsis ... in the top right and click copy link.
  5. Paste the URL into the Figma URL field in the App Center.
  6. Press Enter or Return, or click the Add button.
  7. Your ClickUp search results will include items from the Figma project and teams you've linked.

ClickUp indexes Figma files and projects, their titles, object type, last date updated, and select keywords within the files and projects.

Remove Figma links from Connected Search

You can remove Figma projects and teams you've previously linked to ClickUp to use in Connected Search.

From the App Center in ClickUp:

  1. Search for and select Figma.
    • To manage Workspace Connected Search, click the Workspace tab.
  2. Click the X to the right of a Figma project or team you've previously added.
  3. Your ClickUp Search results will no longer include items from that project or team.

You can re-add Figma links at any time.

Figma link previews

When you paste a Figma URL into ClickUp, you'll see a detailed preview with the following information:

  • Thumbnail
  • File name
  • The last person who modified the file
  • The time the file was last modified

  • Projects
  • Prototypes
  • Frames
  • FigJams

After you paste your first Figma link in a task description or comment, you'll see a new Figma icon in the right sidebar of your Task view. You can click this icon at any time to see every Figma link posted in the task.

Previews are grouped by type. You can switch between grid and table layouts using the icons in the upper-right corner.

Disconnect the Figma integration

If you no longer need to access Figma files in ClickUp, you can disconnect the integration from the App Center:

  1. Search for and select Figma.
  2. Depending on your connection type, select the Personal or Workspace tab.

    Only owners and admins can disconnect Workspace connections.

  3. Next to Connected, click the ellipsis ... menu.
  4. Select Disconnect.
  5. To confirm, click Disconnect.
