What imports?

Task names are matched using the values in the left column. Ensure your databases are organized as desired before importing.

The table below shows what data imports from Notion into ClickUp.

Databases

All databases are imported into a single Folder.

After importing, reveal inline database fields by clicking the plus icon in the upper-right of the database.

Fields

Fields from Notion will be imported as Text Custom Fields. The Custom Fields are created in the associated Lists.

Wikis

Wikis in ClickUp are created at the document level. You can import Notion pages into ClickUp Docs and convert them to wikis. 

The following formatting elements from Notion will be imported as plain text or bullet points in ClickUp:

  • Table of contents
  • Cover images
  • Bookmarks
  • Columns
  • Dividers
  • Videos
  • Blocks
  • Buttons
  • Page icons
  • Code blocks
Page history

Page comments

You can choose to include or exclude page comments when exporting from Notion. If included, comments will be added to the bottom of the page.

 
Number fields When a number field contains a percent sign, the percent sign does not import.
Number fields with currency-related formatting When a number field contains currency-related formatting, it imports as a Money field.

Step 1: Export a Notion workspace or page

Before importing from Notion, export your Notion workspace:

  1. Log in to Notion.
  2. Click Settings and members at the bottom of the left sidebar.
  3. Scroll down and click Export all workspace content.
  4. Set the Export format to HTML and Include Content to Everything.
  5. Click Export
  6. Notion will email you a download link. 

To export only specific Notion pages: 

  1. Click the ellipsis ... in the upper-right.
  2. Click Export.
  3. Select HTML from the dropdown.
    • Optional: Click Include subpages.
  4. Click the toggle next to Create folders for subpages.
  5. Click Export.
  6. Save the file to your local disk when prompted. 

Step 2: Import into ClickUp

To import your Notion workspace into ClickUp:

  1. In the upper-left corner, click your Workspace avatar and select Settings.
  2. In the All settings sidebar, select Imports / Exports
    • If your Workspace doesn't have an import or export history, the Select source of import page opens. In the Import from apps section, select Notion
    • If your Workspace has an import or export history, the Imports / Exports page opens. Select Import items.
  3. On the Prepare your Notion import page, follow the instructions. 
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the Select a file to upload page, attach the Notion export file. 
  6. Select the Space where you'd like to import the Notion content or create a new Space. 
  7. Import your Notion users by mapping them to existing ClickUp users, inviting them to the Space, or choosing to import them as inactive users. 
  8. Click Import to start your import.

Notion workspaces are imported into ClickUp as Lists within a single Folder. Notion docs are imported into a single ClickUp Doc as subpages.

Users in your ClickUp Workspace will be added as followers to any tasks imported from Notion.

Use the Bulk Action Toolbar

After completing your import, use the Bulk Action Toolbar to manage tasks in bulk.
