AI Standup and team updates

See what everyone's working on using data from tasks. Private tasks will not be included.

Access AI Standup and team updates

Accessing these features differs depending on location. In some locations, you'll have the option to select Write StandUp or Get team updates:

• Write StandUp: Summarize your recent activity during a selected time period. 
• Get team updates: Summarize one or more teammate's recent activity during a selected time period.

From Home

To access StandUp from Home:

• Read our article Use the StandUp card in Home. 

From anywhere in ClickUp text is used

To access StandUp and updates anywhere in ClickUp text can be used:

1. Type the /Slash command /ai to display the full AI menu.
2. Select Write StandUp. 

From the toolbar

To access StandUp and updates from the toolbar:

1. In the toolbar, click AI. 
2. From the ClickUp Brain modal, select Write StandUp or Get team updates. 

From your Profile

To access StandUp and updates from your Profile:

1. Open your Profile.
2. Click Write StandUp. 

Select yourself or a teammate

By default:

Your avatar is selected when you choose Write StandUp. 

No avatar is selected when you choose Get team updates.

To choose or switch an avatar:

• In the Write StandUp modal if your avatar is selected, hover over it and click the x to display the select people icon. 
• Click the select people icon and choose up to 10 people. 

Write a StandUp or get team updates

To write a StandUp or get team updates:

1. Select Write StandUp or Get team updates. 
   • From the Write StandUp modal, select one or more people.
2. Use the dropdown to select a time range.
3. Choose from the following format options:
   • Bulleted list: A bulleted list of completed work.
   • Short: A short summary of completed work.
   • Traditional: A more detailed summary of completed work.
4. Select Generate. 
   • You can click into AI's response and open a task or Doc.
   • If you see a bracketed number, click to open a comment in a new window. For example, [3].
     

After AI responds, you have the following choices:

• +Create: Create a task or Doc from the comment thread. 
• Copy: Copy the text to manually paste it into another location. You can also manually copy any part of the generated text.
• Retry: Click to get a different response from the same prompt.
• Tell AI what to do next: Give AI more direction or ask AI something new.
