Manage Docs with Brain AI

Use Brain AI to engage with an entire Doc or specific content. Get an executive summary of a long proposal, or generate action items from a project outline.

You can also use our Write with Brain AI to improve, summarize, or translate selected text in a Doc.

Open Brain AI

To open Brain in a Doc:

  • In the upper-right corner, click Ask.
  • The ClickUp Brain modal opens to the right of the Doc. 

Use a natural-language prompt

You can ask Brain anything using a custom, natural language prompt:

  1. Open Brain in a Doc.
  2. In the prompt field, type your prompt and press Enter or Return.

Summarize a Doc

To summarize a Doc's content:

  1. Open Brain in a Doc.
  2. Select Summarize.

Generate action items in a Doc

To generate action items from a Doc's content:

  1. Open Brain in a Doc.
  2. Select Action Items.

Create tasks from the text toolbar

You can use AI to create a task from selected text, using the text toolbar.

After AI responds 

After AI responds, you have the following choices:
Action Description
Copy Copy the content and manually paste it into another location. You can also manually copy any part of the generated text.
Create task Create a task from the generated content. 
Create Doc Create a Doc from the generated content. 
Retry Generate slightly different content. 
Like or dislike Help us improve ClickUp AI by providing feedback
Tell AI what to do next Give AI more direction or ask AI something new.
