Use hotkeys and keyboard shortcuts

Shortcuts are available all over your Workspace. Use shortcuts and Command Center to do just about anything without lifting a finger!

You can press Shift + ? in your Workspace to bring up the list of hotkeys and shortcuts.

What you'll need

Enable hotkeys

Hotkeys are disabled by default. To use hotkeys they must be enabled in your preferences.

  1. Click your profile avatar.

  2. Select My Settings

  3. Scroll down to the Preferences section.

  4. Click Hotkeys on.

  5. Click Save changes.

Available hotkeys and keyboard shortcuts

Different shortcuts work in different places throughout your Workspace.

From Docs, Whiteboard, or Dashboards make sure your cursor is outside of any text fields when pressing a hotkey.

Use these shortcuts almost anywhere in your Workspace.

Navigate to next task From the task, press Ctrl + Shift + Left or Right arrow.

Desktop app shortcuts

Desktop app shortcuts are separate from other hotkeys and can only be enabled or disabled from the ClickUp desktop app settings.

To enable or disable these shortcuts:

  1. In the desktop app, click your avatar in the lower-left corner.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the left Sidebar, scroll down and click Desktop App.
  4. Enable or disable each shortcut using the toggles to the right.

Quick create tasks

You can quick create new tasks in the ClickUp desktop app. On Mac, the shortcut is CMD + E and on Windows, the shortcut is Ctrl + E.

Open Command Center

Open the Command Center modal from anywhere on your computer to search for items in ClickUp. On Mac, the shortcut is CMD + J and on Windows, the shortcut is Ctrl + J.

You can use this shortcut from anywhere on your computer if the ClickUp desktop app is running.

There are several Command Center-specific keyboard shortcuts you can use to search items in your Workspace.
