Eliminate confusion and miscommunication during the design process.
What you'll need
- 100 uses of Proofing are available on the Free Forever and Unlimited Plan.
- Unlimited uses of Proofing are available on the Business Plan and above.
- Guests with comment permissions and above can use Proofing.
Use Proofing for design reviews
Add, assign, and resolve comments on any PNG, GIF, JPEG, WEBP, video, or PDF file without leaving ClickUp.
To use Proofing on a task attachment:
- Open the task and click the file.
- In the upper-right corner, click Add comment.
- Click anywhere on the file to add a comment.
The comment will be displayed on the file and posted in the task's activity section.
Others can reply or react to Proofing comments, carrying on the conversation and review process. You can assign Proofing comments that require action so your team members can follow up.
Proofing PDF Files
While you can't directly edit PDF files in ClickUp, you can still make comments on them!
Do you have a newsletter or release notes that need to be reviewed? Use Proofing to streamline this process.
When you need a review, you can attach the PDF to your task and add an assigned comment via Proofing. Your reviewer can add their own comments explaining changes that need to be made.
Proofing video content
When using Proofing for video content, comments will display the timestamp of the video and appear in the playback bar so you can access them later.
Use statuses in your review process
We recommend creating three custom statuses for your design review:
- Design in progress
- Design review
- Design approved
Once you've created these statuses, the following workflow is recommended:
- When design work begins, the designer changes the status to design in progress.
- When the design work is complete and needs to be reviewed, the designer changes the task status to design review.
If you want to automate your workflow, create an Automation that tags the approver when the task status is updated.
- The approver reviews the assets and leaves feedback as Proofing comments, then changes the status back to design in progress.
- Steps 2 and 3 are repeated until the approver has no more feedback. The approver will then change the task status to design approved.
