Chat view lets you talk about items outside of tasks in a specific location in ClickUp. View attachments, notifications, unfurled links, and embeds in one place.
Chat view has been replace by ClickUp Chat. New Chat views can no longer be created.
What you'll need
- Chat view is available on all plans.
- There is no Chat view history limit on any plan.
Chat view features
Chat view conversations feature many of the same features as comments, including:
- ClickUp AI
- @mentions
- Followers
- Attachments
- Unfurled links
- Rich text formatting
- Emojis and reactions
Make the Chat view private
To make a Chat view private:
- Right-click the Chat view.
- Click the Private view toggle to on.
- After the view is set to private, you can change it back to public by clicking the Private view toggle to off.
Set permissions for Chat view
You can set specific permissions for Chat views.
To set permissions:
- Right-click the view and select Edit Permissions.
- Use the search feature to find individual Workspace members.
- Click on the Permissions button on the right.
- Choose the appropriate option for each member.
Share a Chat view
Private view sharing with people in your Workspace is fully available during early access. Future limits may apply.
There are two ways to share your private view, by sharing it with others in your Workspace or with a link.
