Create prototypes, dashboards, and other Artifacts

Use ClickUp Brain or Super Agents to create slide decks, dashboards, landing pages, reports, calculators, prototypes, mini-apps, code, and other Artifacts from prompts, uploaded files, computed results, and Workspace data.

Feature availability and limits vary by plan and user role. Learn more

Creating or editing an Artifact consumes AI Credits. For more details on usage, open the Analytics page.

Artifacts are in beta and gradually rolling out to Workspaces.

For example, after Brain analyzes a spreadsheet or compares a dataset with Workspace tasks, you can ask it to turn the results into an executive summary deck, an investor report, or a dashboard. For the full analysis workflow behind these outputs, read Perform data analysis with ClickUp Brain AI.

Create an Artifact

There are several ways to create an Artifact.

After the Artifact is created, open it to review the latest version and confirm it's ready to use. You can ask for changes in the color palette, tone, style, or anything else.

You can reopen Artifacts later from the conversation where they were created, and from other places in your Workspace where Artifact links and previews appear.

Using Brain

To ask Brain to design an Artifact:

  1. Open Brain or @mention Brain. Or, click Artifacts in your Home or AI Sidebar, then select New Artifact.
    • You can also select a card at the top of the Artifacts page, like Slide decks or Data visualizations, to start creating that type of Artifact.
  2. Ask Brain to create something.
    • You can also provide a link to an item, like a Doc or List. For example, you could provide a product brief and ask Brain to create product pages.
  3. Don't worry about filling in all the details. Brain will chat with you and ask follow-up questions.

Using a Super Agent

If your Super Agent has the Direct Message Trigger enabled, you can ask it Super Agent to create an Artifact:

  1. In your Home Sidebar or AI Sidebar, click AI.
  2. In the Super Agents section of the AI sidebar, click All Agents and select an agent. You can also select an agent under Recent Super Agents.
  3. At the top of the agent's page, click Chat.
  4. Type your request and press Enter. For example, Create a landing page for our new ACME protein powder.
  5. In the agent's reply, click the Artifact card to open the Artifact.

From an Art Kit

To build an Artifact from an Art Kit you can access:

  1. In your Home or AI Sidebar, click Artifacts.
  2. Click the Art Kits tab.
  3. Click an Art Kit to open it.
  4. In the upper-right corner, click Use Art Kit.
  5. Brain will begin building the Artifact and tell you when it's done.

Open an Artifact

Your Artifacts are saved in your Workspace and listed on the Artifacts page, so you can reopen them without returning to the conversation that created them.

To open an Artifact:

  1. In your Home Sidebar, click Artifacts.

Screenshot of Artifacts page

  1. Click the Artifact to open it. Use the tabs to filter Artifacts.
  2. To search within the tab you're on, click the search icon in the upper-right corner of the tab row.
  3. To switch between a visual gallery and a list, click the View options icon next to the search icon and select Gallery or List.

In List view, there are several columns you can use to filter Artifacts:

  • Name
  • Type
  • Location
  • Creator
  • Date updated
  • Date viewed

To customize which columns display in List view or how Artifacts are sorted, click the toggles icon in the upper-right corner of the table.

Search for Artifacts from anywhere in your Workspace using the AI Command Bar.

Open an Artifact in full screen

To open an Artifact in full screen:

1. Open the Artifact.

2. In the upper-right corner, click the full screen icon.

3. To leave full screen, press Esc.

Use Art Kits

An Art Kit is a reusable template that Brain builds an Artifact from.

For example, if your team creates a monthly sales dashboard, you can turn the finished dashboard into an Art Kit. Next month, someone on the team picks the Art Kit and Brain builds a new dashboard with the same layout and style around new data. The Art Kit itself doesn't change.

Create an Art Kit

To create an Art Kit:

  1. Open Brain.
  2. Tell Brain which Artifact you want to create an Art Kit from. For example, Create an Art Kit from my Q3 sales dashboard.
  3. Answer any follow-up questions from Brain.

Restore an earlier Artifact version

Each time an Artifact changes, a version is saved.

To restore an earlier version:

  1. Open the Artifact.
  2. In the upper-left corner of the Artifact, click the current version number, such as V2. You can also click the ellipsis ... icon in the upper-right corner and select Version history.

  2. Click Restore this version.

Share Artifacts

To share an Artifact:

  1. Open the Artifact.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Share.

    • To give everyone in your Workspace access, turn on Share with Workspace.
    • To share it with specific people or Teams, click the Share with... button. In the menu, enter a name or email in the Invite by name or email field and click Invite. Expand People to select permission levels.
    • To send the Artifact to people who already have access, click Copy ClickUp link.

Add an Artifact to a location

  2. In the upper-left corner, next to the Artifact name, click Add Artifact to a location.
  3. Select List, Folder, or Space (as a view).
  4. Search or browse for the location.

Moving an Artifact changes who can access it. Its permissions follow the new location unless you've shared it with someone directly.

You can also build an Artifact directly on a location. In the Views Bar, click View, then click Artifact.

  5. Describe the change in the Describe the change for Brain field that appears.
  6. Click Queue edit for Brain. A numbered badge marks the element. Repeat for any other elements.
  7. In the toolbar, click Apply edits.
  8. In the confirmation modal, click Apply edits. Brain applies the changes and saves a new version.
    • To clear queued edits instead, click Discard changes in the toolbar.

  1. Open the Artifact.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click Add a comment.
  3. In the comments sidebar, click an element on the Artifact, or use the comment field at the bottom.

  1. Open the Artifact.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... icon.

To remix an Artifact:

1. Open the Artifact.

2. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... icon.

3. Select Remix.

4. In the Remix Artifact modal, choose a Workspace to remix into and give your copy a name.

5. Click Remix.

Limitations

Artifacts run in a secure sandbox that keeps your Workspace data private. An Artifact can't make network requests or load code from outside ClickUp, so everything it needs is built directly into it.

Artifacts can't use the following:

  • Scripts, libraries, and stylesheets from external content delivery networks (CDNs), like Mermaid, Chart.js, Tailwind, or Font Awesome.
  • Requests to external APIs, webhooks, or your own servers, including fetch(), XMLHttpRequest, and WebSockets.

These limits apply to every Artifact on your browser, desktop app, and mobile app, whether it's private, shared, or published to the web. Charts, diagrams, animations, and interactive elements work when Brain builds them directly into the Artifact.

When an Artifact depends on an external library or service, that part of the Artifact doesn't load. Ask Brain to rebuild it without the external library. For example, Rebuild this diagram as inline SVG without external libraries.

In your browser console, errors that start with Refused to load the script or Refused to connect, and the error fetch is not a function, mean the Artifact tried to reach outside ClickUp. This is expected behavior.

To build a page that pulls live data, host it outside ClickUp and use the ClickUp API.

What else can you design?

Without switching tools or leaving your Workspace, you can ask Brain or Super Agents to create Artifacts from your actual work.

Here are a few ways Brain and Super Agents can use your Workspace items when creating Artifacts:

Artifact link previews

When you paste an Artifact URL anywhere in your Workspace, you have the option to show a visual preview.

Request access to an Artifact

When an Artifact you don't have access to is shared, you can request access from the owner by clicking Request access. You may need click the Artifact link before this option displays.
