Customize Page styles in Docs

You can experiment with different fonts, sizes, and spacing preferences to stylize the look and feel of your pages. Add cover images, icons, protect your Docs, and more.

What you'll need

  • Docs are available on all ClickUp Plans. Some Doc features are dependent on plan type.

  • Docs can be shared with Guests.

Customize your page styles in ClickUp 4.0 

From a ClickUp Doc:

  1. On the right, click the page styles button.
  2. Set your page style options.

Page styles options

There are several settings available to customize the appearance of a page or the entire Doc.

Font and Page options

You can set these preferences on all pages within a Doc by clicking Apply typography to all pages.

The following table describes the available font and page style settings:

Font
  • Sans
  • Serif
  • Mono
Font Size
  • Small

  • Normal

  • Large

Page Width
  • Default
  • Full width

Advanced font and page settings

Advanced font settings are only available in ClickUp 3.0. 

These settings were removed in ClickUp 4.0 in order to prevent unexpected formatting issues in Docs. When you make the switch to 4.0, your current advanced settings are kept until you make changes to each setting.

Settings Options
Font size Use a slider to pick an exact font size.
Line height Use a slider to pick an exact line height.
Paragraph spacing Use a slider to pick exact paragraph spacing.
Page width Use a slider to pick an exact page width.

Header options

Click the toggles to show or hide each element in the page header.

The following table describes the settings that apply to the header for the current page:

Setting Description
Cover image Show or hide the cover image to your page.

Page icon

Show or hide the page icon and title above your page.

Author

Show or hide the owner of the page.

Contributors

Show or hide the contributor(s) of the page.

Subtitle

Show or hide the subtitle of the page.

Last modified

Show or hide the date the page was last updated.

Sections

The following table describes the settings that apply to sections for the current page:

Setting Description
Subpages

Show or hide subpages of the current page.

Options include:

  • Off
  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • Table
Relationships

Show or hide items related to the current page.

Options include:

  • Off: Relationships are only displayed in the right sidebar.
  • Dialog: View and add relationships from a button above the page title. This is the default option.
  • Accordion: View and add relationships from a collapsible table below the page title and above the page content.

Page outline

Always display a page outline on the right side of your Doc which remains visible while scrolling.

Focus mode

Focus mode helps you focus on what you're typing by removing other distractions on the page while you type.

The following table describes the options available for focus mode:

Setting Description
Block While typing, the current content block is shown in full opacity. All other content is shown with reduced opacity.
Page While typing, the Doc sidebars are hidden.

Stats

The following table describes the stats displayed for the current page:

Stat options Description
Word count The number of words on the page or Doc.
Characters The number of characters on the page or Doc.
Reading time Approximately how long will it take to read the content on this page or Doc.
Show stats on page

Show or hide stats in the lower-left corner of the page.

You can also use keyboard shortcuts to show or hide stats:

  • Mac: cmd + shift + C 
  • Windows:ctrl + shift + C
