- Task Relationships are available on any ClickUp Plan.
- Anyone, including guests, with Edit permissions can manage task Relationships.
- Workspace owners and admins must enable the Relationships ClickApp.

Create a task Relationship

There are two ways to create task relationships in Task view 2.0.
From the Relationship section:
- Open a task.
- Scroll down to the Relationship section.
- Click the +Add Relationship button.
- Search or browse for any task.
- A new Relationships table will be created for the linked tasks.
Using /Slash Commands:
- Open a task.
- In the task description or a comment, type
/blocking
,/waiting
, or/link to
. - Press
Enter
on PC orReturn
on Mac. - Search or browse for the task.
If you already have tasks linked, then you can go straight to the Tasks Relationships table and click the Add Task button below the table.

There are three ways to create task relationships in Task view 3.0.
Using the Create Relationship tab:
- Open a task.
- To the right of the Activity section, click the plus icon.
- Select Link Task.
- Search or browse for the task.
From the ellipsis ... menu:
- Open a task.
- In the top-right, click the ellipsis ... to open the Task settings menu.
- Select Relationships.
- Click Task.
- Search or browse for the task.
Using /Slash Commands:

- In the task description or a comment, type

, or/link to
. - Press

Display linked tasks in List view
- Click on the + in the upper right corner.
- Select Linked Tasks from the options.
- A new column will appear and show the count of linked tasks
