Create Dependency Relationships between tasks.

What you'll need

Create Dependency Relationships

You can create Dependency Relationships from the Add Link tab, the Blocking or Waiting tabs, the ellipsis ... menu, or using /Slash Commands.

From the Add Link tab:

  1. Open a task.
  2. In the right sidebar, click the plus icon.
  3. Select Waiting On or Blocking.
  4. Search or browse for the task.

From the Blocking or Waiting tab:

  1. Open a task.
  2. In the right sidebar, click the Blocking or Waiting tab.
  3. Click + Add dependency.
  4. Search or browse for the task.

From the ellipsis ... menu:

  1. Open a task.
  2. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... menu.
  3. Select Relationships.
  4. Click Dependency.
  5. Select Waiting on or Blocking.

  6. Search or browse for the task.

Using /Slash Commands:

  1. In the task description or a comment, type /blocking,/waiting, or /link to.
  2. Press Enter on PC or Return on Mac.
  3. Search or browse for the task.

 

Unlink Dependency Relationships

To unlink dependent tasks from Task view:

  1. In the right column, click one of the Dependencies icons.
  2. Hover over an existing related task.
  3. Scroll all the way to the right and click the x icon.
