Some ClickUp features, embeds, and file previews rely on third-party cookies to load and work correctly. If content isn't displaying, attachments or previews show up blank, downloads won't start, or you're being repeatedly signed out, enabling third-party cookies in your browser often resolves the issue.

ClickUp uses a small, secure cookie to confirm you're allowed to view files. It doesn't track you on other websites. Because this check happens while files load from ClickUp's secure file servers, browsers group it with third-party cookies, which are blocked by some privacy settings. Allowing them for ClickUp often fixes the problem.

The steps in this article cover the most commonly used desktop browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Brave.

Access to your browser's settings.

Browser menus and setting names may differ slightly between versions. If a menu doesn't match exactly, look for the closest equivalent option.

What are third-party cookies?

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember information about you.

• First-party cookies are set by the website you're currently visiting. They handle things like keeping you signed in and saving your preferences.
• Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than the one you're visiting, usually to support embedded content, integrations, file previews, or shared login sessions across sites.

Many browsers now block third-party cookies by default. When they're blocked, some embedded or cross-site features may not load as expected.

Where your browser supports it, we recommend allowing cookies just for ClickUp by adding app.clickup.com as an exception, instead of changing the setting for every website. Both options are shown below.

Google Chrome

To allow cookies for ClickUp only:

1. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... icon and select Settings.
2. In the left sidebar, click Privacy and security, then click Third-party cookies.
3. Scroll to Sites allowed to use third-party cookies and click Add.
4. Enter app.clickup.com and click Add.
5. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

To allow third-party cookies for all sites:

1. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... icon and select Settings.
2. In the left sidebar, click Privacy and security, then click Third-party cookies.
3. Select Allow third-party cookies.
4. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

Chrome always blocks third-party cookies in Incognito windows, so content may not load there even after this change.

Safari

Safari doesn't offer a per-site option, so this change applies to all websites:

1. In the menu bar, click Safari and select Settings.
2. Click the Privacy tab.
3. Uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking.
4. If content still doesn't load, click the Advanced tab and make sure Block all cookies is unchecked. It's unchecked unless someone turned it on. In older Safari versions, this checkbox is on the Privacy tab instead.
5. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

Mozilla Firefox

Firefox's default protection (Standard) works with ClickUp. You only need these steps if the setting was changed to Strict or Custom.

To allow cookies for ClickUp only:

1. Open ClickUp.
2. Click the shield icon at the left of the address bar.
3. Turn off the Enhanced Tracking Protection switch for this site. The page reloads automatically.

To allow third-party cookies for all sites:

1. In the upper-right corner, click the menu icon and select Settings.
2. In the left sidebar, click Privacy & Security.
3. Under Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Standard.
4. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

If you prefer to keep the Custom setting, either uncheck Cookies or set its dropdown to Cross-site tracking cookies.

Microsoft Edge

To allow cookies for ClickUp only:

1. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... icon and select Settings.
2. In the left sidebar, click Cookies and site permissions, then click Manage and delete cookies and site data.
3. Next to Allow, click Add. Enter app.clickup.com, check Include third-party cookies on this site, and click Add.
4. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

To allow third-party cookies for all sites:

1. In the upper-right corner, click the ellipsis ... icon and select Settings.
2. In the left sidebar, click Cookies and site permissions, then click Manage and delete cookies and site data.
3. Turn off Block third-party cookies.
4. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

Brave

Brave blocks cross-site cookies by default. To allow cookies for ClickUp:

1. Open ClickUp.
2. Click the Brave icon at the right of the address bar.
3. Turn off Shields for this site. The page reloads automatically.
4. Open ClickUp and refresh the page.

After enabling cookies

Once you've enabled third-party cookies, refresh the page or restart your browser for the change to take effect. Your content, attachments, and embeds should now load. If they still don't:

• Check your extensions. Ad-blocking and privacy extensions (for example AdBlock, uBlock, Privacy Badger, Ghostery, or DuckDuckGo) can block these cookies too. Allow app.clickup.com in the extension, or turn it off briefly and refresh.
• On a work computer? If a setting is greyed out or labeled managed by your organization, your IT team controls it. Ask them to allow cookies for app.clickup.com.
• Don't test in a private or Incognito window. Browsers block these cookies there by default, even after you've allowed them in a regular window.
