Battery chart card

Create a custom battery chart with any data.

Use the Time Tracked data point to include the amount of time tracked on tasks.

Use Chart drill-down view to see more detail.

Organize the data captured by Date Custom Fields to visualize trends.

Group data by a custom task type. For example, Milestones.

Add a Battery Chart card

To add a Battery Chart card:

  1. Create a new or open an existing Dashboard.
  2. In the upper right corner, click + Add card
  3. From the left sidebar, select Custom.
  4. Click Battery Chart card.
  5. Configure your card settings.
  6. In the upper-right, click Add card.

Edit a Battery Chart card

Hover over a card to:

  • Edit quick settings, including card filters.
  • Use the vertical arrow icons to quickly change the sort order of the bar values.

  • Click the settings cog to edit card settings.

Battery Chart card settings

Choose the data and appearance of your Battery Chart card.

The following table describes the available card settings:

Setting group Setting Description
Data Source Select locations Choose the Spaces, Folders, and Lists to include.
Include Subtasks Include subtasks from the selected locations.
Include Tasks in Multiple Lists Include tasks added to the selected locations.
Include Subtasks in Multiple Lists Include subtasks added to the selected locations.
Display Display as 100% stacked Display group by values as a percentage.
Show legend Show the color and value of each group by option.
Data Measure

Choose the field to display as the bar. Options include:

Group by

Display the battery bar with color coded segments representing a specific field.

You can't group by the same field as you're using to measure the bar.

For example, grouping by Status shows the total number of tasks (measure) in each status (group by).

Options include:

  • None
  • Assignee
  • Custom Fields
  • Dates
  • Formula fields
  • Priority
  • Status
  • Status type
  • Tags
  • Task type
 
Show Filter the selected group by option.
Sort by

Show the measure field values in the selected sort order. Options include:

  • Default: varies based on the selected measure field.
  • Alphabetical: Sort the x-axis from A-Z or Z-A.
  • Values: Sort the x-axis value from highest to lowest or lowest to highest.

The manual sorting option was replaced with the default sort option in February 2025.

Show tasks with no group by field set

Show tasks where the group by option is not set.

For example, when grouping by Assignee, enabling this option includes unassigned tasks in the chart.

Filters Show closed

Include closed tasks in your data.

Show archived

Include archived tasks.

Filter Apply filters to show tasks that currently meet the specified criteria.
