Google Calendar Automations

Use Google Calendar Automations to create, update, and delete Google Calendar events, or trigger other Actions in ClickUp.

What you'll need

Create a Google Calendar Automation

To create a Google Calendar Automation:

  1. Navigate to the List, Folder, or Space that you want to automate.
  2. In the upper-right, click Automate.
  3. Select Create Automation.
  4. In the upper-left corner, click Add Automation.

    To browse Google Calendar Automation templates, click Google Calendar in the left sidebar under Integrations.

  5. Choose a Google Calendar Trigger or Action, customize it, and fill out the remaining Automation details.
  6. In the lower-right, click Create.

Google Calendar Actions

Each Google Calendar Automation Action has different customization options.

Create Event

The following options are available for the Create Event Action:

Calendar Select a calendar to use. Yes
Title The name of the event. You can use dynamic ClickUp fields in the title. Yes
Description The description of the event. You can use dynamic ClickUp fields in the title. No
Location Where the event takes place. You can use dynamic ClickUp fields in the title. No
Add Conferencing

Add a Google Hangout to the event.

Google Hangout is the only video conferencing supported at this time and must be enabled in your account. If Google Hangout is disabled, this field is ignored.

Start Date

Choose a start date for the event.

If the start date is not set, the current date is used.

Start Time Choose a start time for the event. Yes
End Date Choose an end date for the event. Yes

All-day event Make the duration of the event all day. This will override the start and end time you selected. No
Repeat Frequency

Choose if the event repeats and how often:

• Does not repeat

• Daily

• Weekly

• Monthly

Attendees

Add attendees to the event. You can add the following:

• Assignees

• Watchers

• Task creator

• Triggered by

• Anyone in your Workspace

Do not send notifications

Do not send notifications to attendees.

Update Event

The following options are available for the Update Event Action:

Keywords Searches event names for your exact keywords. If multiple matches are found, the earliest event will be selected. You can use dynamic fields as keywords. Yes
Title The updated name of the event. You can use dynamic ClickUp fields in the title. No
Description The updated description of the event. You can use dynamic ClickUp fields in the title. No
Location Where the event takes place. You can use dynamic ClickUp fields in the title. No
Add Conferencing

Google Calendar Triggers

There are two Google Calendar Automation Triggers:

  • Event create or updated: Fire the selected Automation Action when a calendar event is created or updated.
  • Event cancelled: Fire the selected Automation Action when a calendar event is cancelled.

Each Trigger has two fields you must fill out:
