Relationships in ClickUp

There are two ways to use Relationships in ClickUp. You can create relationships with or without the Relationships ClickApp enabled.

Switching between these options by enabling and disabling the Relationships ClickApp will not delete any relationships you've created.

Relationships ClickApp turned off

When the Relationships ClickApp is turned off, you can create the following relationships between your tasks:

  • Dependency Relationship: Tasks can be blocking or waiting on other tasks.
  • Linked task relationships: Tasks can be linked to other tasks.
  • Task Custom Field: Add a Tasks Custom Field to link tasks that aren't dependent on each other.
    • When you enable the Relationships ClickApp, these are displayed as Any task in the Workspace relationships.
  • Reference relationshipsMention tasks and Docs throughout your Workspace to create a reference relationship.
  • Integrations, embeds, and website links are displayed on tasks using their respective icons.
