Start with Structure
ClickUp utilizes a unique Hierarchy structure to ensure that every action item in your workflow has a clear purpose.
Create one Space within your ClickUp Workspace entitled "Product Roadmaps". This is where you'll house all of your action items for each product release.
Add a Folder for each monthly release. These will encompass and organize your Lists and tasks.
Add Lists within your Folders to break down your monthly roadmaps (ex: "this week", "next week"). Lists serve as the ultimate containers for your tasks.
Tasks are where you'll be spending the majority of your time in ClickUp, as they represent the concrete action items you'll need to complete to check off Lists and Folders. Here you can chat with teammates, add subtasks and checklists, and much more.
Important Features and Integrations
Custom Fields: Create unique task fields to manage your testing and development phases, enter scrum points, or really anything else you can imagine! In the picture below we're using the dropdown field type.
List Info: This is the perfect place to communicate about your weekly tasks. You can chat with your teammates, add rich text editing and attachments, and designate colors for each List.
Milestones: These are used in project management to signify the end of a big group of tasks, such as when a new feature is released. Turn tasks into Milestones and easily track them in a Gantt view.
Templates: Preserve the structure of your favorite Spaces, Folder, Lists, tasks and checklists to reuse them in an instant.
Assigned Comments: This proprietary feature allows you to create an action item directly within a task comment, almost like a mini subtask. It's the perfect way to delegate small actions that don't merit a whole new task.
Calendar View: Visualize start and due dates for all of your tasks and Lists, drag and drop unscheduled tasks onto the calendar, and so much more.
Gantt Charts: Plan time, manage resources, visualize task Dependencies, and check up on progress percentage for your Folders.
Calculated Reporting: Gain insight into how your Workspace’s custom fields are being used with reports. It's the perfect way to find the sum, average, or range of your scrum points!
