Manage sprint spillover tasks

Spillover tasks are tasks that didn't get completed and need to be moved to the next sprint. You can quickly move these tasks to the next sprint.

Twenty-four hours before your sprint ends, you'll see:

  • A badge on the sprint in your Home Sidebar and Spaces Sidebar.Screenshot of the unfinished task badge on a sprint.

Adding or moving spillover tasks

When you move spillover tasks, each task is added or moved to the next sprint based on it's home List.

The following table describes how tasks are treated:

Task location Action Result
In a separate List, added to the sprint. Added

The task is:

  • Added to the next sprint
  • Removed from the completed sprint.
In the sprint, added to other Lists. Moved

The task is:

  • Re-homed to the next sprint, which removes it from the completed sprint.
  • Not removed from any other locations.
In the sprint, not added to any other Lists. Moved The task is moved to the next sprint.

Move spillover tasks

To move spillover tasks:

  1. Open the Sprint.
  2.  From the banner below the Views Bar, click unfinished tasks.
  3. Uncheck any tasks that don't need to move to the next sprint.
  4. Click Move tasks to the next Sprint.
