Use Talk to Text in the Brain MAX Chrome extension

Use Talk to Text on the Chrome extension

To use Talk to Text on the Chrome extension:

  1. Start recording:
    • Press Option + B on Mac or Alt + B on PC to start recording. To stop recording, press the keyboard shortcut again.
    • From the Brain MAX sidebar or Brain MAX Home, click the Talk to Text icon to start recording. To stop recording, click the stop icon.
    • If it is your first time, you'll be prompted to enable microphone access.
  2. Your speech is converted to text and improved using AI, then pasted into the Brain MAX Chrome extension search bar or copied to your clipboard.

Add names and vocabulary to your Brain MAX dictionary

You can choose how Talk to Text handles specific names and terms. These names and terms are shared with the Brain MAX app.

To add names or words to your Brain MAX dictionary on the Chrome extension:

  1. Open Brain MAX Home.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Voice notes.
  3. At the top, click the Dictionary tab.
  4. Add names or words to your dictionary.

Change Talk to Text settings

Change keyboard shortcuts and the output language for the Brain MAX Chrome extension. These settings are shared with the Brain MAX app.

To change Talk to Text settings on the Chrome extension:

  1. Open Brain MAX Home.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Voice notes.
  3. At the top, click the Settings tab.
  4. Customize your Talk to Text settings.

The following customization options are available:

Option Description
Microphone Status Test to see if your microphone audio is being captured.
Input Device Change your microphone input.
Interaction Sounds Play sounds for actions.
Mute audio during dictation When using Talk to Text, automatically mute any audio coming from your device while you're speaking.
Output Language Manually choose an output language for Talk to Text. By default, Talk to Text automatically detects your language.
Name Detection Automatically detect and convert names to @mentions.
