Use baselines to create visual snapshots of your task dates in Gantt views.

Baselines capture the start and end dates of the tasks in a List, Folder, or Space, at a point in time.

Add a baseline at any time during your projects to show how tasks have accelerated or been delayed.

Baselines are available on Gantt views on Lists, Folders, and Spaces, so you can capture detailed baselines for each project and high level baselines for your portfolio and strategic initiatives.

Baselines in Gantt view is currently in beta. We're actively working to make baselines available to everyone. Feature availability and pricing is subject to change.

What you'll need

• Baselines are available on the Unlimited Plan and above.
• You can add up to 10 baselines per List, Folder, and Space.

You can add up to 10 baselines to a Gantt view at the List level, and another 10 at the Folder level and another 10 at Space level.

Permissions to work with baselines

What you can do with baselines depends on your permissions to the List, Folder, or Space:

1. Full Edit: Can create, rename, delete baselines.
2. Edit: Can show or hide baselines and save view changes.
3. Comment or View only: Can show or hide baselines and export.

Create a baseline from Gantt view

To create a baseline, from a Gantt view:

1. Click Customize.
2. Select Baselines.
3. Click Add Baseline.

Show or hide baselines, from a Gantt view:

1. In the upper-right corner, click Customize.
2. Select Baselines.
3. Click the toggle to show or hide each baseline.
4. The created date and time are displayed under each baseline's name.

You can also show or hide baselines from the baselines legend.

Baselines legend

When one or more baselines are added to a Gantt view, you'll see a legend in the lower-right corner. 

The legend displays the name and color of each baseline.

From the baselines legend, you can:

• Click a baseline from the legend to show or hide it on your Gantt view.

• Click the settings cog icon to add and edit baselines.

• Click the X to hide all baselines and the baselines legend.

Edit a baseline

To edit a baseline, from a Gantt view:

1. In the upper-right corner, click Customize.
2. Select Baselines.
3. Hover over a baseline.
4. Click the ellipsis ... icon.
5. Edit your baseline. Options include:
   • Rename: Update the name of your baseline.
   • Color: Set the color of the baseline displayed under your tasks.

Delete a baseline

This is a permanent action. Deleted baselines cannot be restored.

To delete a baseline, from a Gantt view:

1. In the upper-right corner, click Customize.
2. Select Baselines.
3. Hover over a baseline.
4. Click the ellipsis ... icon.
5. Click Delete baseline.

Export Gantt view with baselines

When baselines are shown on a Gantt view, they are included in the lower-left corner of an export.
