Customize Chat settings

Customize your Chat settings.

My Settings is available on every ClickUp plan to all user roles. 

Open the Chat settings page

To open the Chat settings page:

  1. In the upper-right corner, click your personal avatar.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. In the My Settings section of the sidebar, click Chat.

Update your settings

The following Chat settings can be adjusted:

Setting Description
Chat Sidebar layout

Choose your layout mode for the dedicated Chat sidebar. This setting will not affect the Home sidebar's layout.

There are two layout options:

  • Organized
  • Recents
Show quick reactions

Choose if and how emojis display when you hover over a Chat message:

  • Off: Do not show quick reaction emojis. 
  • Frequently used: Your most-used emojis will be your quick reaction options.
  • Custom: Select your own quick reaction emojis.
Sidebar Labels Show or hide the Channel's parent location in the sidebar.
Chat Sidebar Count

Choose how the standalone Chat sidebar button informs you that you have unread Channels or DMs. Options include:

  • Badge with unread count
  • Indicator dot only
