Whiteboard connectors are lines and arrows used to create relationships between items. Use the connector Item menu to customize color, shape, size, and more.

What you'll need

Whiteboards are available on every ClickUp Plan.

The number of Whiteboards that can be created depends on your plan:

Free Forever: 3 Whiteboards.

Unlimited: 10 Whiteboards.

Business, Business Plus, and Enterprise: Unlimited Whiteboards.

Guests can use Whiteboards.

If using Google Chrome, we recommend enabling hardware acceleration.
Add connectors with the toolbar
Connectors are lines or arrows that represent a relationship between items on your Whiteboard. Items are the content on your Whiteboard.
All items can be connected with the Whiteboard toolbar.

From the toolbar, select the Connectors icon.

Hover over any item on your Whiteboard to highlight it.

Click and drag the cursor to the other item.

When the second item is highlighted, the connector attaches.
Connect and duplicate items with Quick Create
To connect sticky notes and shapes to each other or any other item, use Quick Create.

From the Whiteboard toolbar, click the shape or sticky note icon to add it to your Whiteboard.

Click the shape or sticky note to see the gray plus buttons at the top, right, bottom, and left.

Click the plus button in the direction where you want the duplicate item.

If a sticky note has a connector, its duplicate has a connector.

Text inside the shape or note doesn't duplicate.

You can't copy and paste tasks or connectors using keyboard shortcuts.
Customize connectors
You can use the Item menu to customize your connectors however they were added.

Color dropdown: Select from nine colors.

Connector style menu: Select from three line weights.

Arrow menu: Move the arrowhead to the start or end of the line.

Connector type dropdown: Select a straight, elbow, or curved line.

Ellipsis ... menu: Click to copy, delete, or arrange the connector in relation to the other items on your Whiteboard.
Align items
Use Smart Alignment Guidelines to evenly position items against each other on your Whiteboard. A red guideline automatically displays when items are aligned at the left, right, top, or bottom edges.
