Tableau FAQs
Q: What are known limitations with this initial release?
A: You can only connect 1 ClickUp Workspace at a time.
A limitation on the Tableau side is that it's not a live, two-way sync. When you prepare the data source in Tableau, it takes a snapshot of the current data at that time. To update the data, you need to use Tableau Bridge and re-authenticate the connection.
The current implementation does not show historical data.
Q: Is the integration on or off by default?
A: The Tableau Web Connector is off by default.
Q: Can the Tableau Web Data Connector write data into ClickUp?
A: No, it cannot. It can only pull information into Tableau for visualization and analysis.
Q: Who can access the data in Tableau via the Web Data Connector?
A: An admin needs to turn on the connection for the Workspace. Then, any member can use the server URL to access ClickUp data in Tableau!
Because members will be logging into the Tableau Web Data Connector, the system will know what permissions they have and will respect permissions defined within ClickUp.
Q: Which version should I use?
A: We recommend using the latest version of Tableau. This is compatible with Tableau starting with version 2020.3.1 (20203.20.0918.1727) 64-bit
