Team Sharing

We're celebrating Team Sharing & all are welcome to the party! ๐ŸŽ‰ Invite an entire Team to different locations throughout your Workspace! BYOT. ๐Ÿ˜Ž


Previously, inviting teammates to a specific location in your Workspace was a tedious processโ€”especially if you had a big list of members to manage. Now, you have the option to invite individual users or bulk-invite an entire Team in one click!


To share something with a Team, click Share or Sharing & Permissions in tasks, Lists, Folders, Docs, Goals, Goal Folders, Dashboards, or views. Use the search box to quickly search for your Team & toggle on sharing. From here, you'll have the option to bulk-edit or adjust permission settings for individuals on the Team!


Additionally, when a user is added to the Team, permissions will dynamically update and they'll be given access to everything that's been shared with the Team!


Note: Team Sharing is only available on the Enterprise Plan.

New Sharing Menu

Previously, the sharing menu didn't provide information on who had access to a location in your Workspace & it was difficult to find + edit user permissions. With our new menu, it's easier than ever to quickly identify who has access to a location, adjust permissions, & invite new or existing members! ๐Ÿค


To access the sharing menu, click Share or Sharing & Permissions in tasks, Lists, Folders, Docs, Goals, Goal Folders, Dashboards, or views.


From the sharing menu, you can:

  • Quickly search for existing members & Teams in your Workspace or invite new users by email ๐Ÿ”

  • Edit permissions in bulk or individually for each user โœ…

  • Choose to share a location publicly or make it private ๐Ÿ”’

A Note from our CEO

Over the last few weeks, our team has been making great net progress on bugs and huge strides with performance and infrastructure improvements. Here's an update on what we've been working on for the last 2 weeks:


Infrastructure:

  • We're continuing to rearchitect our infrastructure and have had ZERO infrastructure issues or downtimes in the last two weeks!

  • We've made tremendous progress to fix the capacity issues experienced in certain regions (particularly the EU). The new Ireland server region (EU West) is almost ready to scale our European region and will prevent these issues in the future!

New Team: We've formed a new team focusing solely on stability, scalability, large initiatives, and the refactoring of our codebase. We will continue to prioritize hiring and adding resources to this team as we scale our Engineering org.


Speed/Performance Improvements:

  • Major speed improvements for the Sidebar, making loading it lightning-fast

  • Enhanced loading speeds on slower networks and devices

  • Amplified speeds when scrolling across menus and dropdowns

New Search Data Pipeline:

  • Almost ready to be tested internally for comments, Docs, & task descriptions!

  • The new system is being built with stronger reliability and performance to increase the efficiency of Search and clear out a lot of the current issues/bugs.

  • Once this first phase for comments is done, we'll be looking to expand to those additional data sources and then get it out to you as soon as possible!

Loading Time Progress: We've made significant progress on refactoring parts of Notifications to reduce load time and are in the beginning stages of the work to reduce Dashboard widget loading times. Approx. timeline for both: 4 weeks.


Major Bugs:

  • We're almost done fixing a major issue that has plagued Mobile push notifications from being sent. When this is done, you'll see mobile notifications better than ever!

  • All issues related to task ordering (order index system) are now resolved! (This includes a very important fix for not being able to set a task position when quickly creating tasks)

  • This week alone we closed over 50 urgent bugs affecting our users!

While I'm excited to celebrate the progress we've made, I assure you that our team is not losing sight of the end goal: one platform, with extremely high reliability and performance, to make the whole world more productive. I know we'll get there, and I wholeheartedly appreciate you sticking by us on this journey!

Preview & Edit Website Links

No more navigating between pages to view a URL! โŒ Now, when you hover your mouse over hyperlinks you'll see a preview of the linked content without leaving the page! You'll also have the option to quickly copy, edit, or remove the link. ๐Ÿ”—


Note: Users with view or comment permissions will only be able to copy the link to their clipboard.

Split Doc Pages while Importing

Previously, importing an HTML file for a Doc that had nested pages would create a very long Doc in ClickUp that could be tedious to navigate. With this improvement, you now have the option to split your imported Docs into multiple pages! ๐Ÿ“„


Simply navigate to the ... menu on your Doc & select Import. From here, select the HTML with Page Splitting option. ClickUp will recognize each new <Heading 1> in your HTML file & will automatically generate a new nested page inside of your Doc! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Export Cycle Time & Lead Time Task Details

Take your team's Cycle Time and Lead Time reporting to the next level! With this improvement, you can now export an in-depth CSV of your Cycle Time or Lead Time Dashboard widgets! The export includes task ID, task name, cycle or lead time, cycle or lead start + end dates, and graph date so that you can more effectively analyze turnaround time! ๐Ÿ“Š


Note: The Cycle & Lead Time widget export is available on the Business & Enterprise Plan.

Improved Gantt View Sidebar

We cleaned up the Gantt view sidebar by hiding the buttons used to add a new Folder, List, or task. You can now easily access them by hovering over any item in the sidebar! ๐ŸŽ‰

Edit Individual Notes in Notepad

Edit your notes in fewer clicks! Simply select the ... menu from inside of your note to rename, archive, or delete a note! You can also convert your notes into tasks to take action on your ideas! ๐Ÿ—’๏ธ

Sunsama Integration

Sunsama is a task manager that syncs ClickUp tasks and other tools into one place to help plan and manage your work each week. ๐Ÿค This third-party integration provides a two-way syncโ€”meaning if you complete a task in Sunsama, the task can be updated in ClickUp! ๐Ÿคฉ To learn more about how this integration works, click here!


Additional Update: In accordance with GDPR, we are required to notify you that we added a sub-processor, Confluence, Inc.


Bug Fixes

In our continued effort to make ClickUp the most reliable productivity platform, we took extra focus this week on eliminating hundreds of bugs in the platform! ๐Ÿšซ ๐Ÿฆ  Here's a quick rundown on some of the top fixes:


Tasks

Fixed: Remapping dates while applying a task template that includes subtasks did not update the parent task start date

Fixed: Editing a task did not automatically add the user as a watcher

Fixed: Unable to change the home List of a task when the home List is archived

Fixed: Rescheduling dependencies added 4 AM to tasks that did not have a due time set

Fixed: When creating a subtask from a task, the tags /Slash command is not shown

Fixed: Downloading an attachment with Russian or Korean in the filename removed the filename

Fixed: Printing a task cuts off information and did not include additional pages


Docs

Fixed: Doc comments would display in the wrong location on a page

Fixed: Unable to add comments even with can comment permissions

Fixed: Unable to press comment when highlighting text and adding a comment

Fixed: View only guests were unable to view images on a page


Views

Fixed: Milestones that are part of a dependency relationship were not rescheduled accurately in Gantt view

Fixed: Dragging and dropping tasks in Gantt view set incorrect dates when using ClickUp in French

Fixed: Unable to create a new task with required fields in Calendar view

Fixed: Unable to drag and drop a task into Timeline view

Fixed: Time in Status was not accurately displaying in List view

Fixed: Dragging and dropping tasks between statuses in Board view required a refresh

Fixed: Starting a timer from List view did not update the time tracked field accurately

Fixed: Unable to create reminders from comments in Chat view


Other

Fixed: Including private tasks, Lists, and Folders in Slack notifications included items that Workspace members did not have permission to access

Fixed: Showing archived Folders & Lists in the Sidebar did not show archived Sprints

Fixed: Pressing enter when @mentioning a Team did not select the Team

Fixed: @mentions in Tasks and Docs did not send notifications to the mentioned users

Fixed: Using the WEEKNUM Formula showed the incorrect value in some timezones

Fixed: Tasks could be added to Lists they already lived in through the API

Fixed: Unable to link email accounts when using the Desktop app
