Track time in the legacy ClickUp mobile app! This information is only applicable to our old legacy mobile app. For a better, faster experience, download the free new ClickUp mobile app from the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store.

What you'll need

Track time natively in ClickUp

There are multiple ways to track time in the legacy mobile app.

Create an entry from the Quick Action menu

To create a new time entry:

  1. At the bottom of your screen, tap the + icon.
  2. Select Track Time.
  3. At the top of the Time Tracking modal, choose one of the tabs to track time:
    • Timer: Select a task and start a timer.
    • Manual: Select a task, manually enter how much time was tracked, and select the date that the time was tracked.
    • Range: Select a task and enter the exact hours and date that the time was tracked.

      Tasks with recently tracked time are listed in the lower half of the Time Tracking modal. To continue tracking time on any of these tasks, tap the start button to the left of them.

  4. Users on the Business Plan and above can further customize time entries:
    • Note: Tap Enter a note to write a note for your time entry.
    • Label: Tap the label icon to add a Time Tracking label.
    • Billable: Tap the currency icon to mark the time entry as billable.

Create an entry from a task

To create a time entry from a task:

  1. Open a task.
  2. Tap the start button to start a timer. Alternatively, tap Track Time to access the Manual and Range Time Tracking options explained in the previous section.

Edit or delete time entries

Edit existing time entries from the recent history or from a task!

Edit or delete time entries from your recent history

To edit time entries from your recent Time Tracking history:

  1. At the bottom of your screen, tap the + icon.
  2. Select Track Time.
  3. To the right of any Time Tracking entry, tap the ellipsis ... menu.
  4. To update the entry, tap Edit, update the details, and tap Confirm. To delete the entry, tap Delete Session.

    Deleted time entries can be recovered from the Trash for a short period of time by an admin or owner.

Edit or delete time entries from a task

To edit time entries from a task:

  1. Open a task.
  2. Tap Track Time to see recent time entries.
  3. Tap each person to expand their time entries.
  4. To update an entry, tap the edit icon to the right of it. To delete an entry, tap the delete icon to the right of it.
