With Clip, you can record Workspace videos right from your browser.

What you'll need

• Clip is available on every ClickUp plan.
• Note: If you're on the Free Forever Plan, Clip recording will use storage space.
• Guests cannot create Clips.
• You must use Chrome or Firefox with Clip.
• Clips are not available on the ClickUp desktop app.
• Clips are audio-only in ClickUp Mobile.
• For Mac users, learn how to allow screen recording.

Task view 3.0 is currently in beta. Join the 3.0 waitlist. The following instructions apply to both Task view 2.0 and Task view 3.0.

Enable the Clip ClickApp

Before using Clip to record, an owner or admin must enable the ClickApp for the Workspace.

To enable the ClickApp:

1. Click your avatar in the lower-left corner.

2. Select ClickApps.

3. Browse or search for Clip.

4. Toggle Clip: Screen Recording on.

Record a Clip using the Quick Action menu

Once the ClickApp is enabled, you can start recording.

To record a Clip using the Quick Action menu:

1. In the lower-right corner of your Workspace, click the Quick Action menu.

2. Select Record Clip.
   

3. Choose to record:

   • Your entire screen

   • An application window

   • A Chrome tab

4. Click Share.

5. Click the record icon to stop the recording at any time, and you'll have the option to:

   • Create a new Task and attach the Clip.

   • Copy Link to the Clip to share it anywhere.

If the Clip isn't saved when the popup message appears, the Clip will be deleted. 

Record a Clip using task comments

To record a Clip from task comments:

1. Open a task where you'd like the Clip to save.

2. In the comment field, click the screen icon.
   

3. Choose what to record:

   • Your entire screen

   • An application window

   • A Chrome tab

4. Click Share.

5. Click the record icon again to stop recording. Once the recording is done, the Clip will appear as an embed in the draft comment.

6. Optional: You can use the Clip ellipsis ... menu to:

   • Change the size of the embedded Clip

   • Copy the Clip's link to share it

   • Change the embed to a link by removing the embed

   • Delete the Clip

7. Click Comment to submit the Clip as a task comment.

Download a Clip

You can download your Clip while it is uploading by clicking the download button.
