Email with ClickUp AI

Using the Email ClickApp, you can write or reply to emails from your tasks. 

What you'll need

  • ClickUp AI is available for purchase on all paid plans.
    • We ensure optimal performance and fair use for all of our customers. Your access to ClickUp AI may be reduced depending on usage.
  • Free Forever plans can’t purchase AI.
  • All plans can access our free AI trial. Free trial usage varies by plan:
    • Free Forever: 25 uses
    • Unlimited and Business: 50 uses
    • Business Plus and Enterprise: 100 uses
  • Members and internal guests can use AI. You’ll be charged $5 per member and internal guest per month.
  • ClickUp AI is not available for HIPAA-compliant Workspaces.
  • ClickUp AI is not available in the following countries:
    • China
    • Cuba
    • Hong Kong
    • Iran
    • North Korea
    • Russia
    • Syria

Write an email with AI

You can ask ClickUp AI to write an email from a task comment. 

To write an email with AI:

  1. From the Comments section of an open task, click the email icon.
  2. Type /. 
  3. Select Write email.
  4. In the ClickUp AI modal, type a talking point and press enter.

  5. AI generates an email.
  6. You can click Add to email draft to send the email from ClickUp. You can also click Copy, or click Regenerate to generate a slightly different version. 

Reply to an email with AI

When you receive a response to your email, you can reply with ClickUp AI. 

To reply to an email with AI:

  1. From the email thread containing the email response, type /reply.
  2. Press Enter.

  3. In the ClickUp AI modal, you can either type a custom talking point. Or you can select one of the ready-to-use prompts. 
    • The AI-generated prompt may require you to fill in specific info. For example, a reply to a support ticket email might generate a prompt offering a workaround. You'll need to provide the workaround for that specific issue. 
  4. AI generates the reply. 
  5. You can click Add to email draft to send the email from ClickUp. You can also click Copy, or click Regenerate to generate a slightly different version.
