Edit with ClickUp AI

ClickUp AI is currently available in task descriptions and comments, email, Docs, Inbox, the toolbar, Notepad, Chat view, and Chat Dashboard cards.

You can edit AI-generated content or use AI to polish up existing content.

What you'll need

  • ClickUp AI is available for purchase on all paid plans.
    • We ensure optimal performance and fair use for all of our customers. Your access to ClickUp AI may be reduced depending on usage.
  • Free Forever plans can’t purchase AI.
  • All plans can access our free AI trial. Free trial usage varies by plan:
    • Free Forever: 25 uses
    • Unlimited and Business: 50 uses
    • Business Plus and Enterprise: 100 uses
  • Members and internal guests can use AI. You’ll be charged $5 per member and internal guest per month.
  • ClickUp AI is not available for HIPAA-compliant Workspaces.
  • ClickUp AI is not available in the following countries:
    • China
    • Cuba
    • Hong Kong
    • Iran
    • North Korea
    • Russia
    • Syria

Edit AI-generated content

After you've generated content using AI, you can use the following options to edit AI's output:

  • Edit Inputs: Edit the prompt you provided.
  • Try Again: Generate a different response from the same prompt.
  • Tell AI what to do next: Reprompt AI by typing a related prompt or giving AI more direction.

Edit existing content

If you already have something drafted, you can use AI to polish it up.

To edit with ClickUp AI:

  1. Paste the text into a location.
  2. Select the text.
  3. From the text toolbar, select the AI icon.

  4. From the AI modal, choose from the following prompts:
Menu option Result
Edit with AI       Edits selected text based on a command you enter into the modal. 
Improve Writing Makes your content better, even if you don't know what's wrong. 
Fix spelling and grammar Returns correct spelling and grammar. 
Make longer Generates more content based on what you've written. 
Make shorter Returns more concise content. 
Simplify writing Returns easier-to-read content. 
Generate action items Returns a checklist of actionable items. 
Continue writing  Continues writing what you've started. 
Explain this Summarizes lengthy or complex content.
Summarize this  Generates a summary of what you've written. 
Translate Translates text into English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Swedish, Dutch, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic.
