ClickUp AI is currently available in task descriptions and comments, Docs, Inbox, the toolbar, Notepad, Chat view, and Chat Dashboard cards. 

Inbox and the toolbar are available on ClickUp 3.0.

What you'll need

• ClickUp AI is available for purchase on all paid plans.
  • We ensure optimal performance and fair use for all of our customers. Your access to ClickUp AI may be reduced depending on usage.
• Free Forever plans can’t purchase AI.
• All plans can access our free AI trial. Free trial usage varies by plan:
  • Free Forever: 25 uses
  • Unlimited and Business: 50 uses
  • Business Plus and Enterprise: 100 uses
• Members and internal guests can use AI. You’ll be charged $5 per member and internal guest per month.
  • External guests can’t use ClickUp AI.
• ClickUp AI is not available for HIPAA-compliant Workspaces.
• ClickUp AI is not available in the following countries:
  • China
  • Cuba
  • Hong Kong
  • Iran
  • North Korea
  • Russia
  • Syria

Access AI with /Slash Commands

Accessing AI differs depending on location. You can use /Slash Commands at any time in the following locations:

• Task descriptions
• Task comments
• Docs
• Notepad
• Chat view
• Chat Dashboard cards

To access AI using /Slash Commands:

1. From one of the above locations, type the /Slash Command /tools to use AI Tools, or /write to Write with AI.
2. Click return or enter to open an AI modal.

Access AI from the toolbar

To access AI anywhere in ClickUp, use the toolbar:

• In the toolbar to the right of Search, click the AI button. Or use the keyboard shortcut Option +  K on Mac or Alt + K on Windows. 

Access AI from a new task description

From a new task description, click Write with AI or Use AI Tools.

New Doc

From a new Doc, do either of the following:

• Select Write with AI.
• Select Use AI Tools.
  

New Notepad, Chat view, or Chat card

From a new Notepad, Chat view, or Chat card do the following:

1. Type the /Slash Command /tools or /write. 
   
2. Click return or enter to open an AI modal.

Existing task descriptions and comments, Docs, Notepads, Chat views, and Chat cards

From these locations, you can edit existing content. 

From a location:

1. Highlight some text and select AI from the toolbar. 
   
2. Select a prompt from the dropdown.
