AI Writer provides prompts written by people working in that role.

Workspace Q&A helps you find role-specific answers from your Workspace Docs and tasks. AI reads the title in your Profile to help find content relevant to you. 

Use Writer

To use Writer:

  1. In the lower-right corner, click the AI icon. And from the ClickUp Brain modal, select Writer. Or, from anywhere in ClickUp that accepts text, type the /Slash Command /Writer.
  2. In the Writer modal, click to open the Ideas for writing dropdown and select a department.
    • In some locations, the modal is titled AI Tools.

  3. Select a prompt, like Product description.
  4. Provide the info required for the prompt, Product name, for example. You can edit the following items:
    • Tone of voice: Choose the right tone for your audience, from professional to humorous. 
    • Creativity: Choose how expressive the language in the content should be. Low creativity creates more predictable content. High creativity creates more imaginative content.
      Experiment using different combinations of creativity and tone to get the content just right! 
  5. Click Generate

After the text is generated, you have the following options:

  • + Create: Create a task or Doc from the generated content.
  • Copy: Copy the content and manually paste it into another location. You can also manually copy any part of the generated text.
  • Regenerate: Click to generate a different response from the same prompt.
  • Tell AI what to do next: Reprompt AI by typing a related prompt or giving AI more direction. For example, you could type Translate to German. Or Summarize this and write an email.

Roles and prompts

AI Tools offers 13 roles and over 100 prompts. Each prompt asks you to provide specific info. The generated content is customized with the info you provide.

Following are a few prompts available for each role:

ClickUp AI uses your Profile title to find role-specific answers to your questions. 

To use Workspace Q&A:

  1. Click AI in the toolbar or the AI icon in the lower-right corner. 
  2. From the ClickUp Brain modal, select Workspace Q&A
  3. You can select a suggested question, or type your own into the search bar. 

After the answer is generated, you have the following options:
