Dependencies provide a crucial way for tasks to interact with each other, but when you're creating new tasks with set Dependencies, it's easy for things to get out of hand. 

Let's clear up some of the more advanced use case questions with some quick answers. 

Terms to know

Internal Dependencies: Dependencies within a group. For example, you have a List, and tasks within that List are dependent on each other. This can also be subtasks of a task that are dependent on each other.  

External Dependencies: Dependencies that relate tasks outside of a group. For example, you have a List that has tasks dependent on tasks within a different List. This also includes subtasks that are dependent on another task. 

What happens when I copy a task with Dependencies? 

• Internal Dependencies with subtasks will remain in place

• External Dependencies are created with the same task that the original task was linked to

What happens when I copy a Space, Folder, or List with Dependencies? 

• Internal Dependencies (within what you're copying) will remain in place

• External Dependencies between the dependent tasks of the original task are created with the newly created tasks

What happens when I create a new Space, Folder, or List from a template?

• Internal Dependencies (within the template) will remain in place

• External Dependencies between the dependent tasks of the original task are created with the newly created tasks
